2016-17 Parkside Cadet Corps Syllabus

Welcome to Parkside Middle School Cadet Corps!


We are excited for our
program and look forward to working with all of you as your Parkside Cadet Corps
instructors.
You will be challenged to realize your potential as a leader and
responsible contributor in your family, school and community. This year we will
be covering topics such as teamwork, leadership, I.B. learner profiles, positive
role models, and discipline.

GRADING:

Daily grades are based on a positive attitude, effort, participation,


following I.B. learner profiles, and preparation. 2 points are earned each day by
following I.B. learner profiles and being in appropriate uniform. It is expected
that all Cadets follow class expectations, give 100% effort and work well with
others. Additional assessments and assignments will account for the rest of your
trimester grade. All assignments are graded using a point system and can be
checked on PowerSchool.

Curriculum:

Students will be learning content from the National Middle School


Cadet Corps (NMSCC) curriculum. Students will also be given a Cadet Handbook the
first week of school for review.

Improving Grades:

Students may correct and resubmit any work, except quizzes

for an improved grade.

Issued Uniforms:

Students are issued a black Cadet t-shirt, yellow Cadet tshirt, and a black polo shirt (khakis will be purchased). Students will also be
issued a green dress uniform consisting of pants, shirt, belt, jacket, shoes, and
tie.

Students will set goals for academic success at the beginning of the

year and track their progress throughout the year.
