Befekadu v. INS, 4th Cir. (2001)
No. 00-2483
THEODROS BEFEKADU,
Petitioner,
versus
U.S. IMMIGRATION & NATURALIZATION SERVICE,
Respondent.
Submitted:
Decided:
May 9, 2001
PER CURIAM:
Theodros Befekadu, a native and citizen of Ethiopia, petitions
for review of an order of the Board of Immigration Appeals (Board)
denying his application for asylum and withholding of deportation.
Befekadu contends he qualified for relief because of past persecution in the form of a six-month detention by Ethiopias transitional government following the overthrow of Mengistus brutal
Marxist regime.
We dispense with
oral argument because the facts and legal contentions are adequately presented in the materials before the court and argument would
not aid the decisional process.
