Like most people, I joined the military with ambitions to serve my country, trav

el the world, and gain financial independence. I have managed to accomplish most
of these goals, but I also stumbled upon an unexpected reward: being part of a
larger family. Yes, I have heard from films, television, and other media outlets
about the lasting bonds of comradeship formed in the armed forces, but it never
actually sunk in until I experience it myself. Even though I worked in the navy
for only about three years, I am feel proud knowing that I have another family
that will watch out for me, as I will do for them.
