What is new in CCNA Security version 2.0?


CCNA Security version 2.0 aligns with the Cisco Network Security (IINS) certification exam (210-260). CCNA
Routing and Switching topics, such as Network Topologies, Securing Routing Protocol, were added to the
CCNA Security 2.0 course, to allow smooth transition from the CCENT level directly into CCNA Security. Other
changes in this release of the course include new topics on introducing Cisco Identify Service Engine (ISE),
802.1x and BYOD, Cloud and virtualization, Cisco Cloud Web Security and Cisco Advanced Malware
Protection. Existing content are updated to reflect new security risks, standards and technologies, integration
of the new technologies into Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), IPS (next-generation IPS), Firewall
(next-generation FW), VPNs, End-point Security, and additional practice assessments. For a complete list of

Yes, the CCNA Security 2.0 curriculum prepares students for the new Implementing Cisco Network Security
(IINS) certification exam (210-260), leading to the CCNA Security certification.

Are certification exam discount vouchers available for the CCNA Security certification exam?
Yes. The CCNA Security voucher program is available for CCNA Security versions 2.0. Current eligibility
requirements are the same for all discount vouchers: 75% or higher on the first attempt of the course final
exam plus a complete in the grade book. Qualified student and instructor candidates will automatically
receive a discount voucher request link on the NetAcad Learn tab. The discount rate for the CCNA Security
vouchers is shown in Table 1:

What is the timeline for voucher redemption with the new CCNA Security Certification Exam (IINS 210260) announcement?

A.

For students who want to take the old exam (IINS 640-554) they MUST request their voucher before midnight
PT, on November 9th, 2015. The vouchers that are issued on and before November 9th may only be used
for the old exam (IINS 640-554).

Vouchers requested on and after November 10 will be valid only for the new CCNA Security exam (IINS
210-260). Access to the old CCNA Security exam (IINS 640-554) will terminate on November 30th. Eligible

students who request their vouchers on or before November 9 2015, MUST schedule and take their exam by

November 30 , 2015 or they will lose their ability to use their discount.
Students who would like to use their discount voucher for the new CCNA Security exam (IINS 210-260),
th

MUST request their voucher on or after November 10 2015, so they will be issued a voucher for the new
exam (IINS 210-260).

Students who request a voucher, between November 10 , 2015 and May 10th, 2016, will have an extended
validity period of six months for their CCNA Security discount voucher. This will enable those students to
prepare more fully for the new exam.
Content of the new CCNA Security course is accessible on NetAcad.com via your instructor. Please prompt

your instructor to facilitate access to these new materials. Following May 10 , 2016, vouchers validity period
will return to the standard three months. Additional voucher information can be found in NetSpace.

Does CCNA Security 2.0 meet the DoD 8670.01-M standard?


The United States Department of Defense has certified the Cisco CCNA Security Certification as DoD
8570.01-M compliant. The DoD 8570 Directive provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification
and management of all DoD employees performing Information Assurance functions in their line of duty.
CCNA Security has been approved for DoD Information Assurance Technician Levels I and II. The CCNA
Security Certification also meets the ISO 17024 standard accredited by ANSI. More information can be found
