Effects of demolishing Ahad Tower

1. Ahad Tower reflects the broken dreams of investors,

who had risked millions only to see the skeleton that
was once supposed to be source of income for them.
2. The project was never completed since its
foundations were laid on an illegal construction plan.
3. Many of the investors have become heart patients,
tension freaks and are mentally disturbed over what
has become of their investment.
One of the investors story I would like to share with
you is that
Muhammad Iqbal Butt was one of 861 investors, who
had invested their money
When administration of Ahad Tower had launched an
advertisement campaign only a few months after the
start of plazas construction.
He paid about Rs 4.5 millions. He said that he had
invested his life-time earnings in its construction.
Administration of Ahad Towers had promised its buyers
that the shops would be handed over to them by 2006
but the construction was delayed.
He said that in 2009, he and other investors like him
were waiting, when suddenly at the end of 2009,
Supreme Court ordered that all illegally constructed
plazas in Lahore be destroyed and Ahad Tower was one
of them.
And as a result Government took action and arrested
Yousaf Ahad Malik who was one of the owner of Ahad
Tower.

Both the Supreme Court and Punjab government have

taken no step to assure that the investors get their
money back due to which investors suffered a lot.
One of the owner of Ahad Tower got paralyze and then
he died
But still his family is suffering as they have to pay back
money of investors.
Recommendations
1. Manufacturers must maintain the law
2. Public representative must avoid to use their
personal references in such un lawfull matters
(means there should be no miss use of power)
3. General public must consult LDA before investing
so that the chances of fraud could be minimized
