Online bookshops
Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk)
Quickly becoming the one-stop shop for all your purchasing needs,
Amazon has a large collection of books and academic materials,
which can be bought from new or second-hand. As with above, the
website works as an online marketplace, meaning that you can find
some very low priced books, some even for 1p (though these are
generally found in the literary section, so good news for English students!). As before, do be aware of shipping costs and times.
GreenMetropolis (www.greenmetropolis.com)
An online charity bookstore, GreenMetropolis sells all its books for
3.75 (not including postage), with either 50p or 1 of each sale going
to a particular charity. Whilst it mainly stocks general interest and fiction
books, there are some academic textbooks to be found, making for a
large discount from the original price.
