Successful simulation of a multiphase system hinges on adequate relative permeability

information. Since relative permeability is a function of saturation, which varies over a


reservoirs life, the best way to get adequate information is to incorporate relative
permeability models into the reservoir simulator. Several models are available (Honapour, et
al. 1986), each claiming varying degrees of merit. The simulation engineer must determine
which model is appropriate. Table 1 lists some common relative permeability models.
