EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES ADDRESSED IN THIS COURSE

Communication - Students will read critically, write in an organized manner, listen objectively,
and speak effectively.
Learning Skills - Students will recognize the need for lifelong learning. Students will
demonstrate skills to locate and utilize information resources. Students will draw from
knowledge of appropriate disciplines, identify problems, analyze alternate solutions, and make
decisions.
Critical Thinking - Students will develop critical thinking skills including analysis, evaluation,
synthesis, and reflection. Students will demonstrate the ability to function in an independent, selfdirected manner.

Interpersonal Skills and Human Relations - Students will recognize effective interpersonal
skills. Students will recognize the need for value judgments and will display a concern for ethics
and social responsibility.
Computational and Computer Skills - Students will utilize mathematical procedures for
effective performance on the job and in society.
Understanding Science and Technology - Students will know and understand the major
developments in science and technology in relationship to their field of study, and will evaluate
their impact on contemporary society and on the environment.
VI.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
1. Recognize hardware components of the Solidworks workstation and understand its uses
2. Create 3d parts
3. Creating assemblies of parts
4. Adding features such as a hole, boss, pocket, etc.
5. Creating multiview drawings from the parametric model
6. Create section and auxiliary view drawings from the solid models
7. Dimension drawings and adjusting dimension locations
8. Saving drawings in different formats
9. Presentation methods such as printing
10. the importance of tolerances when creating models
11. create physical models on the rapid prototyper from parametric models
STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS:
Danville Community College is committed to meeting the needs of all students and providing
access for persons with disabilities. Reasonable accommodations are available to those students
with diagnosed disabilities. Students with diagnosed disabilities wishing to receive specific
accommodations must be registered with the Disability Services. For more information, please
