1. 3.6kg of peanuts are packed into units each weighing 0.45kg. How many packets of peanuts can
be obtained?
Answer: 3.6 0.45=8
2. 9 pears cost RM5.40. If the cost of 4 apples is the same as the cost of 3 pears, how much does
each apple cost?
Answer: per pears 5.4 9=0.6

3. While doing a division, the divisor 2.3 is mistaken to be 3.2 by a pupils, and the quotient obtained

obtained is 18.8. Find the correct product.

(a) Find the area of the board correct to 3 sig. fig.
(b) The cost per square metre of the board is RM576.90. Find the cost of the board correct to the
nearest Ringgit.

6. Madam Wong buys 4 bottles of peanut oil and 3 boxes of detergent from a supermarket. The price
of a bottle of peanut oil is RM3.9 and that of a box of detergent is 2.5 times of the price of the
former. Find the total price of Madam Wongs purchase.
Answer: per boxes 3.9 2.5=RM 9.75 total price 4 3.9+3 9.75=RM 44.85
7. A plant grows 3.5cm per week. It is now 10cm tail. How many weeks from now will the plant grow
to a height of 27.5cm?
Answer: ( 27.510 ) 3.5=5 week
8. A car can travel 12km on 1 litre of petrol. If a litre of petrol cost RM2.10, find the total cost of
petrol used to travel 636km in that car, give your answer to the nearest sen.
Answer 636 12 RM 2.1=RM 111.30
9. A mans weekly wages in the last five weeks were RM260.00, RM320.50, RM240.80, RM275.50
and RM315.75. Find his average weekly income for that period.
Answer: ( 260+320.5+240.8+275.5+315.75 ) 5=RM 282.51
