November 17th-19th and November 24th-26th at 7:30pm
November 19th, 20th & 26th at 2:00pm
This award-winning musical is a romantic comedy with a gentle
touch of whimsy. Join us in Brigadoon, where Lerner and Loewes
classic songs and highland dances will take you on a fun-filled
journey to a simpler place and time: a place where miracles
happen.

the Great Canadian uxperience!
A Family Friendly variety show which gives its proceed to local
charities. We have donated approximately $125,000 to date!
Come join us in 2017 for our 26th annual show.
Thursday, May 4th at 7:30pm
Friday, May 5th at 7:30pm
Saturday, May 6th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm
The theme of this years show, is loosely based on the classic
Canadian road trip experience. Traveling through geography and
time, we will reflect on the many things that make us unique. We
will touch on the iconic things that are universally identifiable as
Canadian, and probably some things that only we as Canucks will
get! We are going to reflect on the beautiful, the brave, the fun,
and the silly, and (as always) have a great time while entertaining
our audience and supporting our community.

Smoke Alarms
Smoke alarm technology has come a long way. Newer models
offer smaller sleeker designs and added functionality. Some of
these features include 10 year tamper proof alarms for landlords, remote control hush buttons, wireless interconnected and
smart technology alarms that can distinguish between burnt
toast and a fast flaming fire. Some newer models can send you a
text message if your alarm has activated. If your current smoke
alarms need replacing, do some research and pick a model that
suits your needs. Hard wired smoke alarms must be replaced
with hardwired units. Make sure that you have a working smoke
alarm on every level of your home including the basement. New
homes built after 2015 must have smoke alarms and strobe lights
in every bedroom. The law does not apply to homes built prior
to 2015, but we always encourage people to place smoke alarms
in bedrooms for added protection, especially if you have sound
sleepers living in your home.

TAB is a group of teens (Grade 8 and up) that meets once a month
at the library. They get together, chat about things they'd like to
see at the library and eat pizza. Sometimes they make posters for a
future event and they help out planning and decorating the Library
Christmas Float. They suggest new books (and recommend you do
too!) and plan things to do at the library.

next year as well, highlighting some structures that were
around 150 years ago in 1867 as we celebrate the countrys
sesquicentennial.

ROAD WATCH
What is Road Watch?
A community initiative designed to improve road safety by
creating greater awareness and giving residents an opportunity
to participate in identifying and reporting dangerous and
aggressive driving in the Township of Uxbridge.
Why have Road Watch?
To help reduce Motor Vehicle Collisions and potential injuries

What is Aggressive Driving?
Aggressive driving is defined as excessive speeding, tail- gating,
failure to stop and any other unsafe driving that puts others at
high risk for collision or injury.
How does Road Watch work?
Citizen Report Forms may be used any time you observe an
act of aggressive driving. Record as much information as you
can about the particular aggressive driving incident that you
witnessed. This information will help the police in monitoring
high risk areas in our community. To complete the report, include
the license number, the make and colour of the vehicle, the
location (as exact as possible) and the nature of the incident.
When you send in the report, it is important that you sign it. This
helps safeguard the system against abuse. Be assured that your

Swim to Survive

Grade 3 students in North Durham.
Our ability to offer this program is
through a generous grant from the Lifesaving Society of Ontario. The
UxPool donates the use of the pool and any extra costs are offset by a
nominal fee that students are charged.
The program consists of learning the following items so that students
can survive an unexpected fall into water:
Roll into Deep Water
Tread 1 minute
Swim 50 meters
Students participate in 3 lessons at the pool with in-class information
taught by the teacher as part of the Health curriculum. All
components meet the Ministry of Education guidelines.
The Swim to Survive program is NOT a replacement for regular
swimming lessons. The program teaches personal water survival
skills. Please register in swimming lessons to ensure that your child
becomes a strong swimmer.
