Welcome to 2nd Grade!!

Field Trip
On Friday, September
16th second grade
students will have an
all day field trip (9:002:00). We will be
learning about
communities at the
beginning of the year,
so students are going
to explore urban,
suburban, and rural
communities. We will
begin our field trip
downtown, visiting the
library and going to
the top of the Principal
Building. Students will
then travel to Walker
Johnson Park in
Urbandale for lunch.
After lunch we will
travel to Jester Park in
Granger for the rural
part of our field trip.
Students will have an
opportunity to take a
hike through Jester
Park before returning
to school. There will be
a permission note
coming home soon.

If you have not already done so, please fill
out our Welcome to 2nd Grade form. It was
sent out to families on August 19th. If you
didnt receive the email, please let me know
and I will email you the link to our form.
Newsletters: Students will receive monthly newsletters
that include what we are learning about, as well as,
important dates. You can find monthly newsletters on our
classroom website at www.2ndgradewildcats.weebly.com.

Specials Schedule: Specials will be on a

different rotation this year. Students will have
PE every other day (A and C days).
