1. SOLD OUT SOFTWARE QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
***********************************************
Loading computer games can sometimes be a daunting task. We here at Sold Out
Software try to make the installation of our games as quick, simple and
effortless as possible. To aid yourself in the installation of this piece of
software it is helpful that you have at hand certain bits of information
regarding your system set-up.
1. The drive letters associated with your machine:
All computers have letters assigned to different drives. By default your
'floppy' drive will have the letter A:\ assigned to it, your hard drive will
be C:\ and your CD-ROM will be lettered D:\. If, let's say, you have more
than one hard Drive then it is most likely that the second hard drive would
be D:\ and your CD-ROM would have E:\ assigned to it.
To avoid confusion, it is recommended that you familiarise yourself with
letters assigned to your computer's drives before trying to install your

2. When we specify 'default directory' it means the directory and drive that
the game installation has been pre-set to install to. You may change the
installation directory if, let's say, all games are installed to a directory
called 'Games' on your system.

5. LAST MINUTE INFORMATION & FAQ's
***************************************
Q. I have multiple CD players and the game is not working correctly, what
should I do?
A. Please install the patch from the Patches folder on this CD.
To install the patch do the following:
1. Go to the 'Start' button on your Windows taskbar,
2. Select 'Run',
3. Type:- D:\Patches\HGNS_patch_1.0_SO.exe
(assuming that the letter of your CD-ROM drive is d:)
4. Click 'OK'.
Q. Are there any cheats in Hooligans? What are they?
A. Yes! Sadly some cheats have been made public by illegal warez channels.
But obviously they didn't understand our special Dutch cuisine nor what
the cheats do. We will give away the cheat codes in our own special way.
Be sure to keep track of our cheats section online!
Q. Will you provide a 'modification-editor' like half-life and quake? Or will
there be mods available for download?
A. No. All levels have been made with internal tools and editors that will
not be made available for the public. In time we will look into
expansion possibilities.
Q. How do I set up a multiplayer game? Are there servers you should connect
to like with Quake or Half-life? How do I contact other players?
A. Setting up a multiplayer game in Hooligans works different then the
'dedicated servers' of for example Quake and Half-life. Hooligans does
not use special dedicated servers to play online. If you are going to
play a multiplayer game, one of the players (preferably the one with the
best computer) sets up a server and all the other players will be clients.
Client computers will automatically detect a server if you are connecting
through a LAN (Local Area Network). If you play on the internet, all
clients should specify the IP adresss of the computer hosting the server.
Please read the manual on how to use the Riot menu.

Q. How do I find out my IP address?

A. When playing over the internet, the IP address provided by your ISP
(Internet Service Provider) is used. You can find out your IP address by
either contacting your ISP or by checking it yourself. In Windows XP, open
the Command Prompt (Programs>Accessories>..), typ ipconfig in the DOS
window and press Enter. Your IP Address will be listed in a list.
In Windows 98, go to Start>Run, typ winipcfg in the Run window and press Ok.
Your IP Address will be listed in a window (Be sure to select your external
network adapter from the pulldown list).

MSVBVM50.DLL Error

The error occurs because during the setup process, the MSVBVM50.DLL file
requires a version of OLEAUT32.DLL that is newer than what comes with the
original version of Windows 95. Therefore you will need to replace this file
with the copy supplied on the your CD-ROM.
To replace the file simply double click on AXDIST.EXE file which can be found
in \SONOW\EXTRAS directory on your CD-ROM.
You will also have to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
