FESTIVALS
Festivals are a time to teach kids some new vocabulary while learning cultural
knowledge. They are such wonderful opportunities for teachers to have fun
with kids. During festivals like Christmas, Halloween, Saint Patricks Day,
Thanksgiving Day, April Fools Day, Easter and New Years Day a lot of
vocabulary related to celebrations can easily sink into kids.
Vary the festivals to be taught every year, introducing new challenges.
Storytelling, videos and songs or nursery rhymes are very effective resources to
teach festivals.
With a little help you can create very simple costumes for your pupils to role
play.
