The rod has a fibre mass fraction Mf = (80 - 0.015XX) %. Assuming that the
composite is void free determine the composite density, the fibre volume
fraction, the tensile strength and the stiffness properties of the composite rod.
The properties of the constituents are to be taken from chapter 2 of the course
notes.
E glass fibre: f = 2500 kg/m3; Ef = 72 GPa; f = 0.22; fft =3450 MPa;
fu =2.4%
Vinylester matrix: m = 1250 kg/m3; Em = 3 GPa; m= 0.38
