Dear Ms.

Childers,
Hello, my name is Allison McGehee. I am currently studying
journalism at Waxahachie Global High School in Texas. It is a
STEM/ECHS (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math/ Early
College High School). We recently received an assignment to
research someone and their successful career in broadcast
journalism. I was wondering if there was any advice someone in a
broadcast journalism field might have someone considering going
into any of those kinds of careers. I just have a few questions.
1. Where should someone start looking college-wise, and

what major is preferred for that kind of job?

2. What are the benefits of diving into the life of a broadcast
journalist?
3. How is hosting a segment or being an anchor different
from being in the field, reporting live? (Based on the
experience)
Any advice you might have would very appreciated. And, if
