Black Rose Immortal

by ~Mordia-Vladimir, Jan 17, 2006, 1:21:31 AM

Literature / Prose / Fiction / Spiritual & Occult

She walks in, her short hair, pinned from her face and beaded with delicate red
crystals. The faint trickle of light from candles captures the vibrant violet of her
eyes, and the soft feminine features of her face. Her black dress flows across her
body, accentuating the paleness of her skin. Her mind is occupied, with the
turmoil of emotion, as she walks down the corridor to the carved, wooden door.
The cold stones, of the house are moss covered, and she can fell the crisp
morning air, stream over her skin. Reaching the door, she notices, the detail of
the carvings. She runs her fingers over the carved wood, following every detailed
curve and groove, absorbing the memories long forgotten. The air around her
becomes deathly cold, and there is a lingering scent of an old fire.
She pushes the doors open. The Chamber is dark, as the heavy red, velvet
drapes are drawn closed. Around the room, she notices, the fine dust, covering
the floor and surrounding furniture. Her heart bounds and her mind begins to
spin into a frenzy of despair, sadness, and hatred. There is nothing of him left,
accept a small, charred book, lying in the fire place. She quickly walks over,
picking up the book, with her delicate fingers, dusting of the ash. A single tear
rolls down her cheek, as she runs her hand over the cover, feeling the last of his
energy, as it slowly fades from her.
A noise from behind wakes her from her trance, and she spins around, to glimpse
the cowering individual in the corner. Her veins pulsate with hatred, and her body
fills with adrenalin. She casts the book aside, and lounges at the murderous
intruder. Grasping him tight in her hands, she looks into his eyes, and witnesses
the events that had taken place. Her fury escalates, and she tightens her grasp
on the young man. The sound of his writs breaking echoes in the room and his
screams are drowned by fear. Before, taking his life, she turns her head. And in
her seductive, rasping voice she says. "I am Mordia Vladimir. And this is my
story"

1557
The air was opaque, as mist sweeped in under the door, and through the
windows, bringing with it the bitter cold of night. The scent is musty, with a hint
of death and decay. Swirling a glass of brandy, Malachai Von Richter, listened to
the howl of the wind outside, knowing that soon he would have to venture out to
feed. His ghostly, pale, blue eyes watched intently on the flickering shadows, in
and around his sanctuary. Finishing the last sip of brandy as the sound of Church

bells whispered in the wind. He stood, grabbing his coat and beloved leather
journal off the table. His hair slicked back, his face un-emotional as he stepped
out into the shadows, and walked into the night.
Ariel, stood at the front door. Her shawl rapped tight around her. The street was
quiet, with only the slight rustle of leaves from the wind. To her, the night was
beautiful and peaceful, one of the better nights she had experienced. After,
taking a couple of deep breathes, filling her lungs with the sweet scent of winter,
she walked down the path. Her footsteps carried in the air, echoing down the
street. Her freedom was only during this time, when others were asleep. She was
able to think and release, without the pressures of male fascism. In the ghostly
hours of the night, she could dream of the life she wished she could live and the
man she could love.
Her solitary walk, had taken her to the outskirts of the town, further than any
previous walks. Her thoughts had impaired her external senses, and she had not
realised how far she had come, until she came across the eerie mansion. Her
excitement was overwhelming, this is where legends had originated this was
forbidden. Her enthusiasm of what she had stumbled upon brought her closer to
the iron-gate. Peering through, she noticed the weed infested garden, and
thorned creepers, trailing their way up the front of the mansion. Her heart raced,
as she took in the atmosphere surrounding the sight before her. In the distance,
she heard the church bells ringing, and realised she had better hurry home,
before she was seen out. She hurried home, her mind racing at the thought of
the mansion and planning her return for the next night.
Malachia wandered through the woods, his thoughts quiet, as his lust had just
been quenched. Finding a small spot underneath an Oak, he sat and pulled out
his journal. Dating the page, he began writing about the nights kill, and the
passion in which he had stalked his prey, the scent of her womanly body, the
softness of her skin and the fading light in her eyes as he depleted her of blood
and energy. His content however, dissipated at the thought of his lonely
existence. The lack of embrace, and the yearning he felt in sharing his
knowledge and life, with a partner. Shaking the thoughts out of his head,
Malachia stood, dusting off the dirt. Above him an owl perched, its hooting
caught his attention, to which he replied out aloud.
"I have never been able to rid myself of humanity. You have little understanding
of the torment I live." He gave the owl a disgusted look before turning back
towards his sanctuary. Again his mind drifted back, to his loneliness. This
infuriated him, as he knew that his desires could never be fulfilled, he was a
killer, a creature of the night, and mankind was nothing but food to him. Yet, he
let his mind delve into his intimate wishes and carried on his way back to the
mansion.
Arriving just before dawn, Malachia noticed a peculiar scent. One which he was
unfamiliar with. He grabbed the gate to his daylight prison, and stepped back in
bewilderment. The focus of energy that had resonated, was deathly sweet, and

intense. His mind went chaotic, as he worried that he had been found. His quiet
existence exposed. Yet, after standing there, trying to comprehend who and why
someone had been here, he decided that it was more dangerous to wait till the
sun had risen. Cautiously he opened the gate, and walked to the front door.
"Still locked." He said with a sigh of relief. Unlocking the door, he walked in, and
closed it behind him.
Ariel, had started her morning as usual that day. She had been woken by her
mother, and helped prepare the morning meal. She had then gone into the
garden with her sisters, to do her chores and then helped with lunch. Her life, to
her was tedious and unfulfilling. Her brothers would go to school, and she was
left at home to learn the finer arts of being a woman. Though during the
afternoons, she was able to read in the sitting room, while her mother sewed and
her sisters finished their needle work. During the day, this was her only time that
she was able to drift away from her life, into anothers. However, this afternoon,
instead of being captured by the story she was reading, her mind wandered back
to last night. The mansion, the scent surrounding it, how old and decrepit it
looked. How it felt like it beckoned her to it, she knew she had to go back. She
must go back, the iron-gate had enthralled her, she was curious to understand
the mansion and who had lived there, and to know whether the stories and
legends were true. Her heart raced at the thought of what she might find, and
whether there was anyone still there. But for now, she went back to her book,
drowning out the giggles from her sisters and the nagging of her mother, until
she could venture out later that night.
After a tedious afternoon, and dinner, Ariel, excused herself from the company of
her family. She washed then said her goodnights. In her room, she laid out the
dress she decided to wear for her adventure. It was a black, with fine silver lace
around the cuffs and neckline. This was her favourite dress, she had made it
herself, much to the diss-taste of her mother, and she had been forbidden to
wear it by her father, something about it being unsuitable for a lady, who was
not married. She knew, that tonight would be magical, that she would find an
adventure and would be able to give her tiresome life some meaning. So as she
thought about what they night might bring, she laid in bed, and listened intently
until the voices in the house had stopped and the lights had been put out.
Malachai woke from his slumber to the sounds of owls. He planned on only a
quick venture out that night his hunger wasn't that great he just needed to
escape from his prison. So after, orientating himself, he grabbed his coat, and
walked out. The moon had just risen, just a small slither of light in the sky. The air
was warmer than usual but cool enough for the mist from the woods to start
creeping its way towards the town. His footsteps were heavy on the ground,
leaves crunching under foot. He was usually more careful to make himself
unknown to anyone who might still be out. Though tonight, he just sighed, and
walked into the woods. The sounds of the woods always soothed him. He
continued to walk, until he noticed a wolf. It stood about ten feet from him.
Watched the animal, as it looked straight through him, then ran past him, after a

rabbit that had been stupid enough to wander out of its burrow. He placed his
hands in the pockets of his coat and shrugged.
"I am nothing. I am not seen, I am invisible. What is the point, I wonder?" He had
walked down to the small stream, where he sat on a rock and listened to the cold
water trickle across the pebbles. He was transfixed on the movement of the
water, and the leaves that floated past him. His thoughts were interrupted by the
hooting of an owl. He looked up and on a branch just across, was who he
suspected as being the same owl from the night before. He gazed at the bird, his
mind filling with frustration.
"What?" He yelled.
The owl did not reply, instead looked at him then flew into the night sky.
"Why must I feel this way? Why was I never given the choice? Damn this life!" He
screamed, picking up a small stone and throwing it. Again this night, his mind
was plagued with the feeling of emptiness and loneliness. So he made his way
back to his mansion.
She noticed the stillness of the night as she hurried to the outskirts of the town,
her heart thumping with adrenalin. She couldn't wait to venture around and
inside the mansion. As she reached the iron-gate, she noticed that there was a
peculiar odour. She couldn't quite make of it. It was subtle, frightening and yet
oddly inviting. She dismissed it, as she slipped through the gates, and walked up
to the door. It was slightly ajar. This was unusual as the night before, it had been
locked shut from what she could see. This excited her even more.
She opened the door wide enough so that she could walk in. The air was musty,
and smelled like it hadn't been lived in for centuries. There was dust,
everywhere. She noticed a small candle on a table in the hall. She looked around
but couldn't see anything to light it with. So she set aside the candle and
continued walking. Her footsteps, echoed and as she walked deeper into the
house, the darker it became. A few times she had to stop and wait for her eyes
to adjust before she could continue. Every room she entered was filled with old
furniture and dusty moth eaten paintings. Spiders had delicately decorated the
walls, ceilings and many doorways. She couldn't believe how wonderful this
place was, even in its need for repairs. Coming across a set of stairs to the
second floor, she decided she would see what else the mansion had to offer. As
Ariel placed foot on the sixth stair, the wood underneath gave wave, and she fell
through into a room below. She lay unconscious on a pile of linen and rags. Her
body was covered with dust and bits of broken wood. She did not move.
Arriving back to his haven, Malachai noticed the peculiar scent he had sensed
the previous night. This time however, it was more potent, lingering and
attractive. He was captivated by where it had come from, until he realised the
subtle hint of a young woman, untouched by a man. Her energy was faint, but
strong enough for him, to lap at it, channelling his energy around it to feel her.
Malachia, was suddenly thrown off guard, when he realised that the energy he
was feeling around the gate was resonating from inside his haven. His thoughts
turned vicious as he thought of some mortal fingering his only possessions.

He flung the door open, his footsteps pounding through the hall. He followed the
trail of energy, into one room, then another and another, throwing furniture out
of his way as his hunger and lust grew. Finally he reached the stair case, he
looked up and realised the hole. Quietly he stepped up, until he could peer down.
There laying still, was a young woman. Her scent snaked its way into his mind,
filling him with tender delight and yearning. Quietly he made his way to the room
in which she lay. He walked up to the carved door, and gently pushed it open.
Her energy engulfed his senses and he was awestruck by its weakening intensity.
Malachia walked slowly towards her, cautious not to wake her suddenly.
Sitting down next to her body, he removed the shards of wood. He gentle ran his
fingers over her exposed, soft, tender skin to remove the dust from her fall and
ever so slightly swept the hair that had fallen across her face. Her eyes fluttered
for a second and he remained still, before, carefully lifting her off the ground.
He carried her to his crypt and laid her fragile mortal body on his bed. He took in
her features, the high cheek bones, her long lashes and her silky, fine hair.
Without thinking, he ran his hands over her covered body, taking in her curves,
her faults within her perfection. Her let her mortal scent fill his nostrils, letting
the aroma arouse his senses. Then, as the bells rang in the distant with the
morning sun, he left her to sleep, and made his way cautiously to another room.
She awoke, to the slight sounds of birds, and the rustling of leaves outside. The
room was dark, and the air was musty and damp. It took a few minutes before
her eyes could adjust, and for her to remember her undertakings of the night.
Thats when she realised, that she was not in the room in which she had fallen
into. Her heart thumped with fear of the unknown. Quietly and quickly she made
her way through the maze of corridors and rooms, until she had reached the
front door. She looked behind her, before slipping out into the morning light.
Watching the front door close, Malachai, smiled slightly, knowing that she would
be back. But first he had to sleep.
Ariel returned home, to find half the towns people gathered. Her mother was
crying, and her father was hurling abuse with other men about what they needed
to do. As Ariel walked up, her mother saw her, and screamed that her daughter
was safe. The people allowed Ariel to her house, and as she walked towards her
mother she was approached by her father.
Where have you been? Her father, asked sternly.
I I dont know, father. I woke up in the woods. I remember going to bed, and
falling asleep.. Ariel stammered before she was cut off by the Head Priest.
She has been possessed by the devil! the old man cried out.
No! Ariel said. I remember falling asleep, and then hearing something in my
room, when I looked I saw a man. He gagged me, and took me away. I was able
to free myself, But in the dark I was lost. Ariel silently cried. I fell asleep and
waited for morning so that I could find my way back.

Her mother, wrapped her arm around her daughter, and looked at everyone
before leading Ariel inside. The crowed dispensed, quietly mumbling amongst
each other.
Once inside, her mother put water on the fire, so that her daughter could wash
herself, and eat. Nothing else was said for the rest of the day. Ariel was not given
any chores, and she noticed the house was quiet, and the air was filled with
anxiety and waiting. She went to bed, knowing something wasnt right, and her
sleep was troubled with chaotic and disturbing dreams.
Malachia, waited not long after dark, for her. He stood in the shadows where he
could see the gate. He waited and waited. But she did not return. For so many
years he had felt nothing, and this night, he despised the mortal longing he felt
for her. The wind howled and his thoughts could only focus on taking one more
glimpse of her. He did not know why he wanted her, although his animal instincts
wanted her to cure the hunger, he could not have them take over. He wanted her
like any mortal man would want a beautiful woman. He wanted to feel her, smell
her, lie next to her warm body. He wanted to embrace her, hold her delicate
body, run his fingers over her skin. He began to get more impatient as the time
moved on. As he watched the stars and moon move across the sky, the owl that
had been tormenting him every night swooped down and rested on the stone
fence beside the gate. It looked at him, and hooted, before flying down to perch
on a nearby tree branch. Malachai looked intently at the owl, gazed into its eyes
before reaching out to allow it to rest on his arm.
You are a bird of prey, a night dweller. We have much in common, and yet you
appear to mock me? The owl, made no reply, just looked at him. Malachai
sighed, he let the bird rest back on the branch, and as despair plagued his mind,
knowing that the young lady he had come across the night before was not going
to show, he placed his hands in his pockets, and walked inside.
The next morning Ariel was pulled out of bed, by her mother, who urged her to
wear something appropriate and innocent. Her mother pulled out a full, white
gown. The collar came up to her chin, the sleeves covered the full length of her
arms, and it dragged across the floor. Her mother, pulled her hair back tight,
leaving her scalp sore, and gave her a small veil to hide her beautiful face. As
she sat at the table with her family for their morning meal there was loud
pounding at the door. A few people cried out to the family, but they sat there in
silence. Her mother looked down at the table, ringing her hands, her sisters
looked at each other, then removed themselves from the room. Her father stood,
looked at her with an expressionless face, then walked to the door to allow
whoever it was in.
A rush of people came through the door, lead by the Head Priest. Ariels mother
began crying and her father did nothing to refrain the mob. Ariel was hauled onto
her feet, and bound. She looked around amazed, bewildered at the judgemental
stares she got from the people. She was dragged, to the towns prison, where she
was thrown into a chamber and the door locked. It had happened so suddenly
that her mind had been given no tome to comprehend what was happening and

what was to become of her. Through a tiny window above her head, she heard
her mother screaming for Ariels pardoning, that her daughter was no witch, and
she had been taken by someone else. Ariel began to breathe quicker as the
conversation taking place filled her heart and soul with fear. She heard the priest
condemn her as a witch, and the one guilty of the past disappearances of pretty
girls in the area. Ariel began to sob as she heard the words she will be burnt.
They lingered in her mind, the priests voice echoing again and again. She felt ill,
her stomach twisted inside, her heart pounded in her chest. The room began to
spin, and as the knowledge of her death plagued every part of her body she
fainted.
Malachia was jerked awake from a silent yet loud crying of a woman. The sound
pounded within his head and he was disorientated for a brief moment as he
channelled his thoughts around the sound. Her tears were ice cold, they were of
fear and loneliness. Her energy felt weak and distant, it was cold, icy and filled
his body with despair. He looked around and realised that it was almost dusk. He
could not venture out, but had to wait. His anger slowly lapped over the cries
within his mind, and he felt the surge of his animal instinct build in his lost soul.
He readied himself, as the light trickled away into darkness. As the last ray of
light vanished from the earth he raced out of the mansion, and into the shadows.
In the woods, Ariel screamed, as the priests tied her to a stake, accusing her of
blasphemy and murder. Her sobs, and cries for redemption were not heard, and
the continuous gathering of the town folk drowned her cries further. The priests
began theyre ritual prayer to save her soul, as her mother was held back by her
father, crying begging for her daughter to be released. The town folk surrounding
the stake gleamed with joy that they would once again live in peace knowing
that they had caught the killer.
Racing through the woods was Malachia. Her screams became louder as he
neared the edge, where the burnings took place. His body was yanked from the
inside with each scream, tearing deeper into his forgotten soul. He had no time
to devise any form of plan, All he knew is that there was something about this
young female, that he could not stop thinking about. How she made him feel, her
energy her scent. As he came to the clearing, he heard and smelled the potent
stench of man. Hundreds of them, surrounding the stake, the priests in their
black robes and the young girl who had entranced him, sobbing, screaming as
she asked for forgiveness. He saw the stack of branches and wood, being lit by
each member of the vicious faction of priests. The flames beginning their journey
towards the beautiful creature who he had begun to love. He ran out from the
cover of darkness, leaping over the small flames that started burning furiously.
He quickly pulled the unconscious Ariel from the stake, and took off, leaving the
priests and town folk, in disbelief. Her body hung limply in his arms as he
continued through the other side of the forest and into the night.

1564
It had been several years since the night Malachia had rescued Ariel from her
flaming death. However, those years had passed slowly as she lay in bed without
sound or movement. He forced her to eat and drink, he changed the sheets and
her clothes, but never had she thanked him, she had never looked at him and his
caressing touches were dismissed with her shrugging him away. This had
burdened the carefree and untamed nature of Malachia. His patience had worn
him down to a shadow of the creature he once was. Her hostility, her defensive
and withdrawn persona finally brought Malachia to the edge. He had walked in to
get her up for something to eat and bring her a gown he had found which would
highlight her striking features he had witnessed the night he had found her
unconscious in his abode. As he sat down next to her she turned her entire body
away from him, and struggled against his advances to help her to sit up. The fury
raced through Malachias body, as he stood up, and through the food and water
he had brought for Ariel against the wall. Ariel cringed at the sound of breaking
china. Malachia hauled her out of the bed she had lived in for the past few years,
bringing her right up against his body. His grip tightening around her wrists. Her
heart pounded, his grip began to hurt, and she slowly brought her eyes to look at
his. Although frightened, Ariel looked beyond the blue eyes staring at her, fierce
and hateful. She saw the person who had saved her, the young man who had
taken care of her, who had loved her, she saw the humanity that had been hiding
in a deadly monster. Malachia gripped her tighter, and began to scream.
I have done everything for you. I saved you, I made sure you were fine even
after you had come into my home unwelcomed. He looked closer at her, his
hunger churning within side, his animal instincts began working over time.
Why should I continue to be your slave, you servant, when you can not show me
the love or passion that I have given you? Why did I save you that night? Why
didnt I kill you the first night I came across you? He looked closer at Ariel,
noticing the tears that began to well in her beautiful eyes.
Why? Please tell me why I cant kill you? Tell me why I havent been with you?
Why? I dont even know your name! Malachia let go of Ariels wrists, and turned
away from her, holding his head in his hands, confused by his emotions and
instincts. Struggling to contemplate what he should do. He turned around to look
at her again, and stopped in his tracks, as Ariels delicate hands, wrapped around
his face, holding his head in front of her.
Thank you. Ariel said quietly as she took in his features, running her delicate
hands over his cheeks, down his neck and leaving them pressed against his
chest. Malachia looked at her, his confusion was swept away and replaced by a
wave of emotions he had not experienced in many years. Ariel, leaned into
Malachia, her fingers gripping into his body, as she quietly sobbed. Malachia, was
astounded by her change in her attitude and her actions after his outburst. He
wrapped his arms around her, embracing her in a way he never had before.
Life had been beginning to pick up after Ariels change in manner. Her and
Malachia had begun late night walks, and sensual cuddles by candlelight. But
there was still distance and tension between the two, as Malachias instincts

were too strong, and he had numerous times, left Ariel wandering in the
wilderness, as he hunted. There was also the tension, between their two very
different lives, Ariel, finding it hard to live a completely nocturnal life, while
Malachia seemed to refuse any form of daytime activity, even within the walls of
the haven. During one of their usual moonlit walks Malachia, stopped and pulled
Ariel closer to him.
I want you to be with me forever. He looked at her closely. When I hold you, I
can feel your energy, your soul dying. You will always be beautiful to me, but I do
not think I would be able to handle your passing.
Ariel, closed her eyes, and breathed deeply. She knew what he was asking of her.
I dont know Malachia. I am too afraid and I know this makes me selfish. But I
dont think I can. Ariel looked away, before turning and heading back to the
mansion. Malachia watched as Ariel walked further away from him. His mind
encircled by confusion, frustration and anger.
When Malachia returned to the mansion, he found Ariel asleep in their bed. He
couldnt help but smile when he saw her. He lay down next to her warm body and
watched her body move with her slow breathing, he embraced her before he
closed his eyes to rest.
That night, Malachia and Ariel, decided to spend a quiet night in front of the fire.
The winter had been precariously cold and unforgiving, and Ariel found it harder
to roam the woods at night during this time. Curled up in front of the fire Ariel
looked at Malachia and smiled.
Malachia. She said quietly, before turning her gaze to the flames.
Yes, my gorgeous sweet? Malachia replied, holding her closer to him.
Im ready. I want it now. Im not afraid any more. She looked up at him, her
eyes capturing the light from the fire. Her skin radiating with warm life and
glowing in the light. All Malachia could do was look at her. He had wanted her to
ask him for so long, but was now afraid that he would loose her forever. He was
afraid that she would loose her soul, her innocence and humanity, that she would
become purely a hunter, a killer and he did not want that for her.
My lovely girl, Im afraid that I will loose you forever. Ariel smiled.
You will loose me forever eventually if I dont. She placed her delicate hand on
his cheek before gently kissing him on the lips. Malachia could taste her
sweetness, smell her godly essence and feel her warmth. His mind coiled and the
thought of loosing her. Knowing this was her wish however, Malachia smiled and
nodded. He thought it would be best if he gave her what she wanted, in a more
sensual, loving manner rather than the usual chaotic seen of no choice.
Over the week, Malachia taught Ariel what the transitions would be like, how her
senses would change, her personality, her urges and how she would lack that
warmth that humanity has. Ariel listened intently, her mind absorbing all the
words and images that Malachia said and described. Her lack of fear was slowly
brought back, as she witnessed the actual act of hunting Malachia would not
permit her to see before. Her stomach churned at the idea, but as Malachia had
explained, after the transformation, she would have no moral qualms about the

act, and would never again see it has horrendous. Over the nights and days she
spent learning, listening and watching, her thoughts were plagued with fear, but
she hid that fear, knowing that Malachia would not continue if she could no
longer agree to the transition. Knowing that this would be the end of her mortal
life, she decided that she would send one letter to her family, just so that they
would know she was not killed, after the escape from her burning. However, she
did not intend to send the letter, knowing that it would spark more grievances for
her family. More so than her being declared a witch or her escape had already
caused.
At the end of the week, Malachia and Ariel embraced each other in front of the
fire. It was the coldest night of that winter, deadly quiet, and a pitch black sky.
The air was overwhelmed with waiting silence. Malachia, in his mind had planned
the best approach in allowing himself to do what would normally come so
naturally to him and to make Ariels transition, as painless and enjoyable as he
possible could. Watching her in the dim light, he noticed her tenseness and
heavy breathing. He could hear her heart beating fast, and felt the goose bumps
appear on her skin as gently stroked her.
Malachia gently positioned Ariel against him, as he ran his finger tips, down her
and across her body, gently from her neck, across her shoulders then down her
arms. He proceeded to feel her body his hands running across her a little harder
as his urge grew stronger. Ariel lay in his lap, feeling his touch, feeling the energy
he emitted which comforted her. She slowly rose and sat with her back turned to
him, and let the delicate nightgown she wore slip from her body. Malachia payed
little attention to this, as he let her hair down then smoothly moved it across her
shoulder. Her passed his fingers slightly over her soft back, and gracefully kissed
the back of her neck. Ariel could feel her urges increase with every touch of his
lips on her back. But refrained herself, and instead tilted her head to one side as
an invitation for Malachia.
Malachia looked at her neck then breathed deeply, as he carefully bit her gently.
His hunger grew, as he could smell her sweet scent, and as he positioned himself
he held her wrists. Ariel gasped for air, as the pain from her neck ricocheted
through her entire body. Malachia, loved her taste, it was sweet, warm and filling.
He had to suppress his killing instinct, so he could sire her properly. He felt her
body tense just before, she slumped against him. Her energy weakened, and her
breathing and heart were slow and weak.

2004
Many centuries had past, and Ariel had transformed into a beautiful goddess of
the night. Her voice had become more seductive, her eyes had changed to a
brilliant violet and she had taken on the identity of Mordia Vladimir. Malachia and
herself had roamed and conquered the night in many neighbouring cities and

towns. Their reign was incomprehensible and frightening, and yet they stood to
be no one in amongst the chaos and havoc they had caused. They had witnessed
many events in human evolution and history. Had started trends, and had sent to
the world, more children of the night. Their passion and love for each other had
grown even more so. They had lived through wars, poverty, devastation, preying
on the weak and stupid and now, they were preparing for the new age, the age
of technology and advances in science. They loved this new world, but they
could also see the natural environment that had comforted them drawing to a
devastating end. Their sanctuary was in threat, as developments were taking
over the land around them. But they were positive, in this age, nightlife was
common, and they decided to spend the last of the remaining days in their
mansion they had grown accustomed to.
However, their mansion was not the only thing to pass.
The last night in their mansion, Ariel decided to have one last hunt in the area,
before they moved in to the vacant warehouse in the city. Malachia stayed to
pack their belongings and to write in his beloved journal. As he began to start the
last entry of his journal, a strange feeling of trouble caught his instincts. He
dismissed this quickly as he decided to write the lyrics of a song that had been a
favourite of his, from this age of music, he wrote:
To my Mordia,
In the name of desperation
I call your name
A lamentation I sigh
Again and again
Spiritual eclipse
The gateways are closed for me to seek
The night...
A veil of stars, watching
My shadow is born from light
The light of the eye, in darkness
Over troubled waters memories soar
Endlessly, searching night and day
The moonlight caresses a lonely hill
With the calmness of a whisper
I wear a naked soul
A blank face in the streaming water
It is cold in here
Frost scar my coat with dust
Eyes attach to your mute portrait

We spoke only through thoughts

Together we gazed, awaited
Hours brought thirst and the rising sun
Sunbirds leave their dark recesses
Shadows glid the archways
Do not turn your face towards me
Confronting me with my lonliness
You are in a forest unknown
The secret orchard
And your voice is vast and achromatic
But still so precious
Lullaby of the crescent moon took you
Mesmerized, its kaleidoscopic face
Granted you a hollow stare
Another soul within the divine herd
I have kept it
The amaranth symbol
Hiddin inside the golden shrine
Until we rejoice in the meadow
Of the end
When we both walk the shadows
It will set ablaze and vanish
Black rose immortal
It is getting dark again
Dusk shuffle across the fields
The evening trees moan as if they knew
At night I always dream of you (taken from Black Rose Immortal - Opeth)
After he had finished writing, in burst in a young man. Malachia jumped quickly,
his journal was flung into the flames of the dying fire. But his assailant was
quicker than him, and they struggled and fought one another. It was clear to
Malachia the intention of the attacker, as his struggled to hold back the stake.
Mordia, dropped the body she held in her arms. A feeling of distress echoed
through her body, and she could feel the intensity of Malachias physical exertion.
She raced back to the mansion, knowing that if she did not hurry he would be
lost for all eternity, and she could not wander the earth alone, unloved for that
long. As she reached the mansion, Malachias energy dissipated and she froze
before stepping in, through the open doors.

It had been days since that night, and her sorrow, had left her unable to move
from the spot in front of the fire. The body had begun to fill the air with pungent
stench of decay, but she sat there, reading through the entries Malachia had
written over the many centuries. She finally came to the last entry, and cried for
her love. She wept as she picked up the stake, and drove it into herself.
