Mute Call Problem Report - Huawei 2G

1 Problem Description
Mute calls in some Huawei covered areas.

2 Progress Results
According to the loop test result and the analysis of the TC record, it is very
probable that transmission problems exist in the Ater segment. We suggest a full
Tx verification of the Ericsson optical transmission network.

3 Detailed analysis
We have made test calls on site AG2646 in AGBSC50 and were able to reproduce
the mute call problem. At the same time we also did a loop test. See figure
below. Results are as follows:

Ater Loop test in the BM subrack (MS direction): No issues. Voice was
heard normally.
Ater Loop test in TC subrack (MS direction): Mute calls and occasionally
third party was also heard on the call.

First results show that there are transmission problems between the BM
subrack and the TC subrack. The BM subrack interface is EUUa and the TC
subrack interface is POUc. Note, the problem may very well be on the Ericsson
optical to electrical transfer. Due to the transmission topology, we suggest
making a complete test on the Ater timeslot and verify for faulty links. Our tests
showed problematic links are 8 and 11. See table below:

In conclusion, the mute call problem it is most probably due to the Ater
transmission segment.
