Beginners Courses for Adults in Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and
Mandarin
The Mahatma Gandhi Institute proposes to offer Beginners Courses in the above
languages aimed at motivated persons interested in acquiring an elementary command of
an additional language.
Applications are invited for the next session, due to start in May 2006.

Some sessions will take place in the Language Laboratory at the Mahatma Gandhi
Institute, Moka.
Applications should be made on the prescribed forms obtainable from the Reception
Counter, Mahatma Gandhi Institute, SMAAS Building Moka, during office hours or
could be downloaded from MGI web site: mgi.intnet.mu >contacts
Applications duly filled in, together with copies of the birth certificate and marriage
certificate, where applicable, should be returned by Registered Post to the Admissions
Office, Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka by Friday 21 April 2006.
The language chosen should be clearly marked on the left-hand corner of the envelope.
Only one subject may be applied for.
The Mahatma Gandhi Institute reserves the right not to run any of the courses if the number of students is
not sufficient.

Beginners Courses for Adults in Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Mandarin
AIM
The aim of the course is to provide participants with opportunities for developing
primarily the spoken skills of the language chosen.
DURATION
This course is of three months duration and will be held twice weekly from 16.30 hrs to
18.00 hrs
