SS Classroom Expectations- Mr.

Wolford
Welcome, I am Mr. Wolford and I teach 8th grade SS and Advanced SS for Team
8-3. This is my 8th year at IWMS and my 27th year teaching Social Studies.
The 8th grade SS curriculum covers US History from 1854 to the Great Depression
of the 1930s.
The best way to reach me is by e-mail. My e-mail address is
stephenwolford@smsd.org. My phone number is 993-0634.
I am available to work with students on Thursday and Friday mornings
before school and after 3:45 each afternoon. (Monday mornings I am in the gym;
Tues-Faculty meetings; Wed.-Team meetings.)
General Guidelines
Students should:

Follow all school rules

Be on time, ready to work when the bell rings.

Bring materials- students should never come to class without a


pencil/pen and your notebook.

Be respectful of others, including Teachers and Staff members who are


here to HELP you.

Be responsible for themselves.

Assignments
Need to be completed on time.
Late work will be accepted until the end of the grading period for partial
credit.
When students are absent:
1. Check the calendar on Skyward for that days activity/assignment.
2. Check Google Classroom for any assignment documents.

3. Check the Assignment Box in the classroom for copyrighted
documents. Note: not all assignments can be posted digitally due to copyright
restrictions.
4. If a paper assignment, place in the basket on Mr. Wolfords desk.
If a digital assignment, submit through Google Classroom and inform Mr.
Wolford via e-mail.
Do your own work. Plagiarism is illegal.
You have homework EVERY NIGHT!! You should review the days activities,
read the appropriate sections in the textbooks, review your study guides,
and list any questions you should over the material for the next day.

Extra Credit
As a general rule Extra Credit opportunities will be given from time to time.
You must be alert to those opportunities.
Extra Credit is not ever meant to be a substitute for missing assignments.
All assignments must be in before E.C. is accepted.
Retake Policy:
Students may request a retake on tests or quizzes when their score is below a
70%.

Students will be required to fill out a request form and have turned in all
assignments from that unit before they may retake the exam/quiz.
Retakes must be scheduled within a week of the previous assessments return.
