    An archaeological watching brief was carried out on the extensions and alterations to buildings at Springs Farm situated on a floodplain south of the river Thames in Purley, South Croydon. The small number of finds found indicates the possibility of prehistoric (struck flints) and medieval activities (pottery sherds and a domestic animal bone deposit).
