These past summer months have been absolutely beautiful here in Redland
City. We are privileged to have great weather all year round but these past few
months have really outdone themselves. This years Poinciana bloom was one of
the most magical as the whole city turned red.
In this first edition of the 2015 newsletter we bring you some great news for the
very talented Carins family. Were also heading overseas again, find out about
that on page 2 also our Hidden Talents II Art & Craft Showcase is on again
this year, details on page 3. And lastly on page 4 youll find our upcoming event
dates to schedule in to your calendar. We had a great 2014 and were looking

Mothers Day Morning Tea

- Cancer Council
This years Cancer Council QLD Redland branch will host their annual Mothers
Day morning tea at Renaissance Victoria Point. Each year this immensely
successful event raises valued funds for the Cancer Council QLD. To be held
on Thursday 30th April, 10 am 12 noon, a $20 donation at the door includes
morning tea and lucky door prize ticket.
Throughout the morning there will be market stalls, live music, raffles and a
fashion parade by Come September. To purchase a ticket to this wonderful

Norfolk Island
E X P E R I E N C E
This Spring, we are off on an adventure to Norfolk Island with Trade
Travel. All the usual historic sites and activities will make up an
interesting tour and a relaxing holiday for our residents and friends
from Mt Gravatt Bowls Club. A morning tea and presentation about the
trip is being held at the Village Leisure Centre on Monday 30th March.
If you would like to join us please RSVP by 27 March to 3820 7700.
At this stage, Renaissance residents and our Mt Gravatt Bowls Club
friends have first option to join the tour, however if you are interested,
please contact Helen and she will keep in touch with you.

MASSAGE THERAPY

Relaxing, de-stressing, treating and stretching at Renaissance since

2009, our massage therapist, Kylie, is popular amongst residents. Kylie
believes the key to longevity is to maintain your range of motion and to
help with this she specialises in areas such as remedial massage,
lymphatic draining, Chinese cupping, dry needling, moxibustion and yoga.
Remedial massage is a popular form of massage therapy as it addresses
the aches, pains and injuries that befall many of us at some stage in our
lives. It is a varied therapy, combining techniques such as massage, trigger
points, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage and joint mobilisation.
Youre in safe hands with Kylie as she talks through your problem areas,
looks and listens for clues to devise an effective treatment plan to relieve
dysfunction and pain. The techniques may be gentle or firm, deep or
shallow, depending on your preference and the underlying issues.
So when you are next at the village, noticing our relaxed
and happy residents, now you know one of their secrets!

Talents II

Art & Craft Showcase

Once again, Renaissance Victoria Pt residents will be sharing their hidden talents. Our second Art & Craft Showcase
will be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May from 10 3pm. There will be a variety of work to view,
items to purchase and a pop-up coffee shop on the terrace.
Do come and enjoy a browse and be prepared to be amazed and delighted.

Family Musical Talents Go Global!

Musical talents run deep in the Carins family. As many of you know, Andrew Carins, Renaissance Retirement Living
General Manager is an award winning* singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Many generations of the Carins
family are musically gifted but its the youngest generation that are really making their mark. Andrews sons Ryan and
Matt are individually making waves in the international indie music scene with their bands The Coopers and Hollow
Coves (respectively).
Recently both bands had their songs chosen to theme some Contiki Tours #NoRegrets campaign videos. Interestingly
Contiki were not aware that the bands were linked through brothers Ryan and Matt. To listen to these masterful music

Village Update
Happy 2015 to all our valued friends of Renaissance. The year has certainly
started off with a blast with several residents moving into the village in recent
months and enquiry levels at their highest yet!
In our last edition, we mentioned the release of Stage 25, where there are only
two villas remaining. We are therefore very pleased to announce the release of
Stage 28. Exciting times are ahead as we move even closer to completing our
