How to Apply for Professional Qualification - CIOB

The future growth and prosperity of Bouygues UK depends on the quality and
performance of its staff. We seek to provide suitable training for those individuals
looking to further their careers.
Bouygues UK is committed to giving its staff the best all round training possible, in all
aspects of the construction industry. Part of our commitment is to support all staff to
become chartered in their chosen field.

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is a body


that represents construction management professionals who
work within the built environment. The CIOB is a full
member of the Construction Industry Council.
The CIOB has over 45,000 members worldwide. Members are drawn from a wide range of
professional

disciplines

working

within

the built

environment,

including

clients,

consultants and contractors as well specialists in regulation, research and education.


The following designatory letters may be used by members of the CIOB:

MCIOB (Member)
FCIOB (Fellows)

Members and Fellows of CIOB may describe themselves as a "Chartered Builder" or


"Chartered Construction Manager.
Bouygues UK has a training agreement in place with CIOB. As part of the training
agreement we have committed to the following principles:

To support staff with relevant training


To provide experienced mentors and supervisors to support staff during their
membership application
To provide financial support for applications and membership fee
To provide a calendar of seminars, guest speakers and workshops to support staff
on their journey to membership
To work closely which professional bodies to ensure we are providing staff with the
training and experience necessary to become chartered
How to Apply

If you are interested in applying for a Professional Qualification you will need to contact
your Learning and Development department, Westminster Training Centre.

Westminster Training Centre will be able to give you advice on different qualifications and
the support that Bouygues UK offers their staff who would like to become members.
Once you have decided which route is best for you, you will need to take the following
steps:
1. The below documents will need to be sent to
Westminstertrainingcentre@bouygues-uk.com
a. Completed Personal Assessment Form
b. Current CV
c. Copies of relevant academic/professional qualifications
NB. Relevant documents can be found on compass
2. Westminster Training Centre will then advise the CIOB of your details
3. Once CIOB have assessed your application they will contact you directly to inform
you of the best route to membership and other relevant information
4. Costs relating to chartership can be claimed back on expenses. Each member of
staff is entitled to claim back the following:
a. One membership fee per year
b. One application fee during the lifetime of your employee. Any further
requests for applications fees will be decided on a case by case basis
5. Once your application has been accepted we will assign you a mentor/supervisor.
This will be someone within the Bouygues Group who has a relevant professional
qualification and/or experience to support you during your application.
