LITERATURE REVIEW
Although organizational commitment has been discussed frequently in organizational
psychology for almost four decades, few studies have involved software professionals. A study in
India reveals that HRM practices such as employee-friendly work environment, career
development, development oriented appraisal, and comprehensive training show a significant
positive relationship with organizational commitment. The study's results emphasize the role of
such HRD variables as inculcating and enhancing organizational commitment, and suggest that
HRD practitioners and researchers should further develop commitment-oriented organization
policies.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
4.1RESEARCH PROCESS
Corporate training, which had always been a constant focus area for all insightful companies, has
now become a powerful tool to improve business performance. The role of Corporate Training in
companies today is integral in ensuring that your workforce is tuned into your organization's
goals. On one hand the knowledge economy, is booming training budgets are estimated to be low
and restricted to certain learning companies. Traditionally, Indian companies spend anywhere
between 0.5 and 2 per cent of their turnover on training their employees. The software and BPO
segment, which are essentially people-oriented businesses, spend about 3-5 per cent of their
revenues on upgrading employee skills. The other sectors that are keen on spending for training
programs for their employees are retail, automobile, sales, service, financial services and
banking, telecom and manufacturing. In todays India, the market with an increase in recruitment
makes a big base of the training companies to offer their services for shaping these new recruits

CHAPTER -6
FINDINGS & INFERENCES
Both the organizations that are NIIT and Brainware try very hard to train their employees
by providing them training on different skills, so that they can deliver up to the expected
level.
They also use different types of test to judge their employees. Feedback is a major part of
training industry. They conduct regular feedback from their beneficiaries to see what
going on in both the organizations. They use this feedback for evaluation and appraisal of
their employees.
Form the employees point of view they are happy to work in the respective companies.
They also feel that both the organization do not provide them with too much of work
pressure. This also makes them actively participate in the other activities of their
respective organizations.
Our finding from the employees part is that they are happy to recommend this company
to their friends, which a very good thing as per the personality of both the companies.
We came to know that NIIT mostly prefer to conduct quarterly personality test whereas
Brainware follows different methods. Brainware conducts this the half yearly or yearly.
The ratio of both the organizations in respect to outcome of personality test is similar.
Body language is found to be the least preferred alternative.
Both the organizations have effective HR policies that help their employees to maintain a
healthy task performance.
NIIT uses the result to rectify their employees communication skills as well as patience
ability and comparatively less in personality and provide them the desire result. Whereas
Brainware emphasize more in patience ability and less in personality as well as
communication skills.

CHAPTER -7
Page | 47

Determining the Effectiveness of Personality Analysis in the

RECOMMANDATIONS

Both NIIT & Brainware should conduct personality tests of their employees more often.
The organizations should take heed of the conflict management within the organization.
They should conduct some standardized personality test like MBTI or FIRO-B for the

employees in order to have a standardized result.

Both NIIT & Brainware are found to be easy going with the employees, this is good for
the industrial harmony but may lead to reluctance. Therefore a bit more pressure and

strictness will be healthy for both organizations.

Brainware should train the employees harder in order to prepare them for the competitive

market in the ever growing training industry.

Brainware must enforce more competitive organization culture within its realm.
Both NIIT & Brainware have a narrow span of control, which needs to be taken care of.
Decentralization of decision making process must be considered by both the
organizations in order to have a low power distance.

CHAPTER -8
LIMITATIONS OF THE PROJECT

Page | 48

Determining the Effectiveness of Personality Analysis in the

Indian Training Industry
Due to time and other resource constraints, this project is limited to two prominent Training
and Development Company that is present in Kolkata.
The sample size used is relatively small.
As the study was for a limited period of 2 months and due to lack of time we could not be
well focused on some key areas.
The surveys were limited to Kolkata.
We were not allowed to have one to one interview with some of the senior employees and
managers
Due to the above mentioned limitations this assignment doesnt provide 100% facts and

figures
No information relating to conflict management within the organizations was available.

CHAPTER -9
CONCLUSION
From the whole project we have seen that in training industry the organization structure and
functioning of each institute is little bit similar to other institutes. Good personality test policies
Page | 49

Determining the Effectiveness of Personality Analysis in the

Indian Training Industry
would be the policies, which not only consider all personality test with proper care, but also
considers all the other factors like culture of institutes, type of employees it receives, the nature
of the business and also the place from where it operates and the institutes, considering all the
above factors to achieve the organization goals while framing its Human Resource functions is
said to have been following good policies. The employee should feel that management cares for
him. This will definitely motivate him to work in the interest of organization. There work
environment should be quite friendly so that the employees can discuss their problem openly.
