Attendance: Being in class every day is very important. Support class exists to help you, so
being in class every day will get you the biggest benefit! If you do miss class, you are still
responsible for the work you missed, so please see me to find out what you missed.
Textbook: CPM Algebra 2 Connections (please bring your book to class every day)
Extra Help: I care about your success. My goal is for every single student to pass this course,
and I will work very hard with you to make that happen. The best times to get help from me:
1) Extended Learning Time, 2) lunch, and 3) before school (I get here around 7:15).

Grading: Grades will be online via Synergy ParentVUE. See PPS homepage for more info.
Grading breakdown:
Classwork and participation = 50%
Homework = 30% (from Algebra 3/4 work record sheet)
Learning Targets = 20% (from Algebra 3/4 course)

Letter Grades:
A = 90% - 100%
B = 80% - 89%
C = 70% - 79%
D = 60% - 69%
F = 59% or less

Late work: Work that is turned in late will be penalized 10% per day late.
Class Rules:
1) Respect everyone.
2) Work hard. Be nice.
3) I have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, discrimination, and violence.
4) Do not use phones in class. 1st offense: I take phone until end of period. 2nd offense: Mr.
Elwell takes phone until end of day 3rd offense: Mr. Elwell takes phone for 5 days.
5) Follow all Madison school rules at all times.
Open-Door Policy: If you have any concerns about our class community, please talk to me. I
am here to help you, so if you have any issues, I will work with you to make things right.
