Your FIRST book must be finished by NEXT

Friday (9-9). Remember, you need to fill out the
Rate the Book form (on our website). Then make
sure you fill out the box on the Reading Lotto
form. Finally, you must get a parent signature
verifying that you read the book.

Spelling: Get someone to quiz you on your spelling words.
TURN IN THE PAPER YOU USED FOR THE
PRACTICE QUIZ. The paper must be graded, SIGNED
BY MOM/DAD, and any misspelled words must be
practiced on the back. Do it just like the sample paper I
gave you - it should be in a sheet protector in your
binder.

Calling All Volunteers

Students, one important part of staying organized

and coming to school prepared is to check your
agenda DAILY. Parents, even though this is your
childs responsibility, s/he needs your support.
Please ask to see the agenda daily. All items
should be written down like a To Do List. Please
make sure each item is completed and then check
off the item. Establishing this habit right from the
beginning of the year will help your child on his/
her journey towards responsibility and problem
solving.

August 31. An envelope went home in
the MESH last week. Please return this with
payment IF you would like to purchase pictures.

Fingerprinting
Are you thinking about chaperoning on any 4th
grade field trips? Have you already been
fingerprinted? If you would like to get
fingerprinted, a booth will be available on Back to
School Night so you can get that done conveniently.

Math Facts

We started doing our daily math facts practice last

week. This Monday is our first time to turn in the
practice sheets and cover sheet. We are just getting
used to the routine so feel free to ask questions.
Also, this routine is fully explained on our
classroom website so check it out. Thanks!

Word Power!

Word Power begins this week. Please go to our

website to read all the information about it. Then
take a deep breath, because we are just going to
PRACTICE it together this week. We will all be
using the same word and learning the process.
There will be lots of "hand holding." Whew!
