Summative Assessment

Personal Budget worksheet The following information/questions will be used to


create a worksheet for student to work on in class as pairs.
Use the following information to create and calculate your own budget in the
chart provided.
1. You just graduated from high school and you got a job as a Call
Center Representative making $21,081 a year or $1646.71 a month
(after taxes, etc. taken out of your check).
2. You and three of your friends are sharing the rent on a 4-bedroom
apartment which is $1,199.00 a month.
3. You MUST put 5% of your monthly income into a savings account.
4. Your budget may NOT be negative (debt).
5. Ask your parents/relatives how much is reasonable for your other
monthly expenses. (remember you are splitting some of these
expenses with your roommates!)
6. Determine if the expense is fixed or variable.
7. Calculate the percentage of how much income is used per
transaction category.
