To the Community Involvement team at Bunnings Bibra Lake,

Newton Primary School is conducting a Community Integration program

whereby students are required to contribute to their local community. In doing
so, the students of my classroom are going to be growing and selling their own
vegetables, where the proceeds will be donated to an elected charity or used to
better their local community in other ways. The students are required to prepare
and plant the vegetation, as well as care for, harvest and sell their fruit and
vegetables at a school market stall. In doing so, the students are learning about
the ways in which they can personally contribute to society as well as learn the
value of responsibility.
In order to aid this program, I am kindly requesting a donation of soil and
plants, and your assistance in making the garden i.e. helping with the planting.
The plants that would be required includes cherry tomatoes, celery, broccoli,
strawberries, onions, carrots, spinach, leak, beans and peas, as well as any other
plants you may suggest that are easy to manage and will grow in our current
conditions. We have a total area of 9 square metres to use; therefore we will
require enough soil to cover this area.
In addition to the vegetable garden, we would also like to request some
flowers that we may plant in a third garden in order to create a garden that can
be dedicated to Bunnings Warehouse for your kind contributions to our school.
Thank you for your assistance,
Sarah Bianchi
