The sharing meetings are held at Kenilworth United Churc h of Christ, 45 Dalton Drive, Tonawanda 14223,
from 2:30-5:00. Newcomers and anyone interested will be offered the option of meeting privately with a PFLAG
parent. Our monthly meetings are in the library, which is near the parking lot entrance. The facility is
handicapped accessible. New Parents Meetings are scheduled as needed at a location convenient to those
involved. These self-help one-on-one meetings deal with the concerns of parents and family members who
have recently learned that a loved one is gay.

We meet because we have learned that someone very close to us is Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgender. We try to
help one another deal with this information in a positive manner. Although we do not agree at all times, we try to be

understanding. We offer help to those who seek it, but do not force ourselves on others. We strive to maintain
anonymity while sharing on a level that is comfortable for all of us.

In 2014, about 450 people attended, in 2015, over 700 people joined us.
We had guests from across the United States and ranging in age from 2 to 72.
They included people of all backgrounds, speaking various languages at home, coming from every race
and education level. We awarded over 30 scholarships making it affordable for anyone who wanted to
attend. We came with our own stories, identifying as all gender identities and sexual orientations, in all
different kinds of families. But we have one common trait: we are professionals, families and friends who
want to work together to support our children and youth. Seeming different brought us together, and now no
one can feel alone. We are all one family.

We thank you for being a member of our family and taking the time to read this
newsletter. You may have noticed some changes over the past months. We are focusing
more on what our local chapter is doing, has done recently in the past, and is planning
for the future. More articles are shared from PFLAG National, and fewer are shared from
other news sources. We are sharing more articles on our Facebook page, where we can
share interesting pieces immediately throughout the month.

All newsletters are sent electronically via email and also posted on our Facebook
page. So if you are reading this, you have an email account but maybe not a Facebook
account. If you are not on Facebook, we do not want you to miss the fine articles and
events that we share on our FB page. Please consider visiting our Facebook page,
www.facebook.com/pflag.niagara, as a guest. Consider adding it to your favorites. You
can get all of our shared and posted information without opening an account. You will
asked to if you want to, but you do not have to.
You will have the same access for reading that Facebook members have, though you
will not be able to interact to the same degree as FB members.
So if you havent been to our Facebook page, consider the above to get the most
current shares and posts from us. Please read our page with its articles, event
information, and calls to action. If you are already on FB, keep reading our posts. Please
visit our website, www.pflagbuffaloniagara.org frequently. And of course, please read our
newsletters and stay up with our chapters news and events.
As always, thank you for your support!
