Potato Reaction In

Water & Salt Water

Introduction
The experiment on the potato in order to know the reaction of potato in a water & salt
water, the potato is measured using scale. And the hypothesis is potato should react differently to
each water and salt water.

Procedure
Material that used in the experiment 2x potato, 2x beaker, 2x 200ml water and 5 teaspoon
of salt . the procedure :
1. Cut the potato into 2 pieces and take the beaker glass
2. Fill the 2 beaker with 200ml water and 1 other beaker with 5 teaspoon of salt then
pour it
3. Put one pieces of potato in each beaker glass
4. Wait for 1 hours 10 minutes

From the data above it seem that the mass of the potato that was 30g react differently,
Salt water potato has decreased mass to the point of 28 and the mass of unsalted watered potato
has increased mass to the point of 32g, it can be conclude that the mass of potato react on the
type of water in was potato put on. Volume of water was 200ml in each salted and non-salted, the
water of the salt stay the same like it was before of the experiment and after, but the non-salted
water has decreased volume which is 198ml, it can be conclude that volume of different type of
water that used in the experiment react differently some has lowered mass and other have the
same. It make the hypothesis approved that potato does react differently to different type of
water.
