Summary - Last Comment.

The prohibition of proselytism is guaranteed to all Greek Constitutions and the

diversification of its general application in respect to all religions, as well as in the valid
Constitution 75/86/2001. As a concept, it means the conversion brought by unfair means in
the religion of he who practices proselytism. The form of prohibited religious act should be
interpreted narrowly so that it does not unreasonably / unconstitutionaly restrict the freedom
of religion, in the mean of the free propagation of religious beliefs. In point syto is mainly
based criticism of the legislation, along with compatibility or incompatibility of these
provisions with Article 13 of the valid Constitution. And here the jurisprudence varies.
The explicit prohibition, therefore, of proselytism is not necessary since it is already
covered by the prohibitions found in the general clauses (legality,compulsory behavior ,
rights of others). In any case, and as far as legislation implements, the constitutional
requirement must be restricted in specific cases where there is really abusive and fraudulent
behavior on the part of practising the proselytism.
