TELEMEDICINE SYSTEM

HEALTHCARE SERVICES

The aims of our proposed system are:

1) To provide healthcare services to the patients while they are far from hospital.
2) To provide a platform for direct communication between doctor and patient.
3) To provide one mobile application (that includes multiple categories) for cooperation among:
patient, doctor, pharmacy, laboratory and other related department.
4) Personalize the healthcare services that are provided to the patient.

The vision of our system is demonstrated in Figure 1, as shown below:

As explained in Figure 1, we have six categories. (Now, you may preview the power point slides that
attached with this document). The specifications and features for each category are explained in the
following descriptions:
Note: The following points for each category are in sequence:

1. Patient:

Download the application and select (patient) category.

Select language (Arabic, English and (Kurdish later on in future).

Fill form that includes personal information.

The patient can request medication from the pharmacy directly.
The patients can select the medical department that he/she want such as (E.N.T., Cardio,..).
All doctors in the medical department that the patient is already request will be displayed.
Then the online doctor will be available (as there will be a schedule for all doctors).
Patient can: call, SMS, MMS, chat, send picture or send video to the doctor.
The patient receive the directions (services) from doctor which includes:
o Appointment.
o Medication (doctor send the medication to pharmacy).
o Advice (increase does, or decrease or other).
o Direction to the patient to X-ray department.
o Direction to the patient to go to Laboratory to do tests.
o Tips
The patient rate (using 100% or five stars scale ) the following:
The doctor performance.
The healthcare services that he/she got.
The application overall.
The patient can:
Complain on doctor or any other related issue.
Suggest.

2. Doctor:

Download the application and select doctor category.

Can see all other doctors from all the departments.
Can see all other doctors who are online.
Can see all other facilities (pharmacy, X-ray and labs).
Cannot see his average of performance (as the patients will rate him/her.)
Accept the call, SMS, MMS, chat from patients.
Load the patient's medical record and history.
Can share the case of the patient with other doctors from other departments.
To provide healthcare services: the doctor Can:
(1) reply directly to the patient or
In case whereas the doctor needs advices from other doctor , the doctor (2) ask the
patient to wait, in this scenario either:
i. The patient will be on (Hold) or
ii. The patient will close the line and wait a call from the doctor.
The doctor can set appointment to the patient. So, a calendar will be loaded to set the
date. This is the personal calendar of the doctor which is automatically saved in the
system.

Doctor can set a package of medications by:

a. Loaded a P-form that already stored in the system, (P-form: includes all common
medications of the medical department that the doctor is belong).
b. The doctor selects the medication from P form as check list ( ).
c. Then the doctor can select the does and number of times that the patient should use
this medication.
d. Refer to pharmacy.
The doctor can ask the patient to go to X-ray, MRI or CT scan.
The doctor can ask the patient to go to the laboratory to do certain test or tests.
All history features such as: name of patient, name of doctor, the service procedure, duration
of call, medications, ..etc. are automatically saved in the system.

3. X-ray and other:

Receive the request from doctor.

Confirm the type of action (X-ray, MRI or CT scan).
Wait the patient.
Perform the action.
Give the patient the results.
The results are automatically uploaded to the system.
The doctor can view the results from the system or from the patient.

4. Pharmacy:

Receive the request from doctor.

Confirm the number and type of medication from P from.
Perform the action.
Send the medication to the patient's location or
Wait the patient.
The results are automatically uploaded to the system.
The doctor can view the results from the system or from the patient.

5. Laboratory:

Receive the request from doctor.

Confirm the type of action (which type of test /tests should the patient do?).
Wait the patient.
Perform the action.

Give the patient the results.

The results are automatically uploaded to the system.
The doctor can view the results from the system or from the patient.

6. Data Center:

Registrations of:
o Patients.
o Doctors.
o Pharmacy.
o X-ray.
o Labs.
o Hospitals
o Clinics
o Others.
Reports.
Patients' medical records.
Statistics.
History.
Payments.

7. Other services:

Ability to set a time table schedule to all doctors to be online.

Ability to set a replacement option for the time table schedule of the online doctors.
Locate the positions of the patients and all other places using "Location services".
Map of the area using google maps.
Emergency services which includes (alarm to the patients, send ambulance, send
notification to the patient's relative).
Auto reminder to the doctor and patients for the appointments.
Auto tips and advices send to all patients.
Auto reminder of medication to all patients.
For old age and chronic disease, the system should includes the names of relative of
the patient in order to keep monitoring and update.

All the descriptions above are dedicated for Phase-1 of our system in Phase-2 we will
integrate Medical sensors such as ECG and SMART devices such as the medical watch.
