What We are Learning
Important Information

Reading
We will continue working on character and plot. We
will also begin working with homographs. Please
make sure you student is reading 20 minutes every
night at school.

Word Study
This week we will be working on commonly misspelled words that the students use frequently in
their writing. Please check the Homework Corner for
a list of words.

Writing
This week we will continue to work on our narratives.
Students will also begin to incorporate research into
their writing.
Math
This week we are moving on from Place Value. We
will review Place Value throughout the year and continue to practice the skills we learned in these first
few weeks of school. This week we will start our first
unit on Multiplication and Division. Homework begins this week.
Science
This week both classes will begin the Matter Unit.
We will be exploring physical and chemical change.
We will be participating in many experiments. Stay
tuned for important project information for this unit.
