COURSE DESCRIPTION AND MAJOR INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL


This course focuses on desktop publishing, graphic image design, computer animation,
multimedia production, and webpage design. Communication skills and critical thinking
are reinforced through software applications. English language arts and arts are
reinforced. Work-based learning strategies appropriate for this course include
cooperative education, internship, school-based enterprise, service learning, and job
shadowing.

CLASSWORK AND TEST POLICY


Class work is to be completed each day as assigned. If a student is
absent, he/she is responsible for completing the work that has been
missed by the due date.

Test/assessment will be completed as assigned. If a student is


absent the date of a test, but has received all necessary
instruction/information, he/she will make-up the test upon returning to

class. In other cases, the test must be completed (1) week from the
date of returning.

Retests are available for students scoring 70 or lower. Students


must complete review before retesting.

The student is responsible for remembering make-up date.


CLASS INCENTIVES AND RECOGNITION
Students of the Week: positive behavior/attitude, following
school/class rules, and 100% class effort.
Good Work: performing well on test/assessments.
Good Thinking: presenting innovative/new ideas during class
discussion or excellent participation.
CLASS PROCEDURES
Come to class each day on-time, fully prepared with folder, paper, and
pen/pencil.
Sharpen pencils before the tardy bell rings.
Sit in assigned seat before the tardy bell rings.
No food or drinks allowed in lab.
Remain behind the computer and sitting properly.
Keep workstation clean and tidy; also dispose of trash at the end of
class. Personal items are placed under the chairs.
Stay seated until the bell rings and the teacher dismisses class by
rows.
Take all belongings when leaving the class.
Ask permission before using anything belonging to classmates and
teacher.
Do not use the computer until instructed.
Stay on task during class.
