NORTHWEST AUSTIN REPUBLICAN WOMEN

GENERAL MINUTES MAY 2, 2016


At 11:48AM President Cassie Daniels called the meeting to order at Dave &
Busters Restaurant.
A quorum was present.
Chris Sale offered the opening prayer. The pledges to the American and
Texas flags were led by Sherry Workman.
Elected officials, candidates and guests were introduced. List attached to
original minutes.
Michele Samuelson introduced Greg Hamilton, Travis County Sheriff and
Jacob Castro, ICE/ERO San Antonio Field Office Assistant Director who
delivered a very informative program regarding the duties of their office.
The minutes of the last meeting were placed on the tables for review and
were approved as written.
The Report of the Treasurer was given by Susan Friedrich and showed a
balance of $4,571.81 in the general fund and $748.18 in the project fund.
COMMITTEE REPORTS were given by: Membership; Awards; Campaign
Activities; Caring for America; Hospitality and Legislative.
The Corresponding Secretary announced and wished Happy Birthday to the
all members born in the month of May.
NEW BUSINESS:
The floor was opened for nominations to serve on the 2017
Nominations Committee. Rhonda Murphy, Elaine Lehman and Susan
Fredricks were nominated and elected.
President Daniels accepted the resignation of Dee Scheetz as
Secretary. Julia Johnson (current Parliamentarian) was nominated and
elected to fill the unexpired term and Dee Scheetz then accepted the
position of Parliamentarian.
A club Hamburger Cookout Social is scheduled for May 19 th 6-8PM at
4407 Secluded Hallow, Austin, TX 78727. Members were asked to
sign-up for the potluck.
A recap of the TFRW Meeting was shared with the members.
ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Mid Year Leadership Retreat is scheduled for August 13th.


The next General Meeting will be held on Monday, September 12th at
Dave & Busters Restaurant at 11:15AM social and 11:45AM meeting.

President Daniels adjourned the meeting at 1:15PM.
