1 Apparel (noun/ verb)

or decoration; (verb) to put clothes on; dress up
E.g. This store sells womens and childrens apparel.
2 Besiege (verb)
: to attack by surrounding with military
forces; to cause worry or trouble
E.g. The town had been besieged for two months, but still resisted the
aggressors.
3 Compress (verb/ noun)
: (verb) to press together; to reduce in
size or volume; (noun) a folded cloth or pad applied to an injury
E.g. Firmly compress the soil so that the plant will be secured.
4 Denounce (verb)
: to condemn openly; to accuse
formally
E.g. The governments economic policy has been denounced on all
sides.
5 Dispatch (verb; noun)
: (verb) to send off or out for a
purpose; to kill; (noun) an official message; promptness; speed; the act
of killing
E.g. Our handsome hero manages to dispatch another five villains.

6 Douse (verb)
: to plunge into a liquid drench; to put out
quickly; extinguish
E.g. We watched as demonstrators doused a car in/with petrol and

7 Expressly (adverb)
: plainly, in so many words; for a
particular purpose
E.g. I expressly told you to be home by midnight.
The farmer put up the fence expressly to stop people walking across
his field.
8 Famished (adjective)
: suffering severely from hunger or from lack
of something
E.g. Some food supplies should be sent to the famished refugees of
recent floods.
9 Forsake (verb)
: to give up; renounce; to leave, abandon
E.g. He had made it clear to his wife that he would never forsake her.

10 Gainful (adjective)
: profitable; bringing in money or some
special advantage
E.g. Many graduates tell of months spent in search of gainful
employment.
11 Immense (adjective)
: very large or great; beyond ordinary means
of measurement
E.g. Immense wealth/value
They spent an immense amount of time getting the engine into
perfect condition.
