Which is Which?
Nowadays, many people are confused in choosing a university and program that will be
taken up during college has a great impact in the future. One of the most popular degree program
that students want to take up is Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).Two popular
universities here in our country offers this program- Far Eastern University Institute of
Technology (FEU IT) and Adamson University (AdU) which are known to be the top performing
schools in this field, but which of these schools give higher quality of education when it comes to
Civil Engineering?
To begin with, FEU Institute of Technology and Adamson University civil engineering
students both dominate because they want their students to cope with the high quality education
in the field of civil engineering. They want to shape every student to be able to build innovated
constructions in the future.
On the other hand, FEU ITs BSCE program can be finished in 4 years and 1 term
because of its trimestral system to prepare the CE graduates in the demands of the construction
industry. In contrary, AdUs BSCE program can be finished within 5 years because of its two
semestral system designed to apply the principles and concepts of the program in planning
design, construction and research associated with the community growth development. When it
comes to grading system, they both implement zero-based scores but differ in passing rate in
which FEU ITs new grading is 10% higher than AdUs 60% passing rate.
In addition, FEU Institute of Technology topped the May 2015 Civil Engineering
Licensure Examination which made them to be one of the top performing school in the field of
Civil Engineering. Among thousands of examinees, 3 of the top-notchers are proudly products of
FEU Institute of Technology. Its overall performance gave them 71.23% passing examinees
compared to AdUs 35%.
Hence, FEU Institute of Technology and Adamson University may differ in many aspects,
they only have the same goal and that is to produce well-prepared civil engineers in the future
that can contribute in our society.
