Calling All
Volunteers
Thank you SO MUCH for all the
volunteer forms that came back to
me. I am so happy to have moms and dads offering
to help with our Scholastic Books and come to
room 10 to work with students. I will be confirming
later this week. Right now, it looks like we still
need help with Room Mom (coordinates 3 class
parties.). We also need a Project Cornerstone
volunteer and a yearbook volunteer. Please let me
know if you are willing to do this. 33 fourth
graders will be extremely happy! I want to say a big
thank you! I appreciate your help so much!
Rock Collection
We are starting our own rock collections.
We checked out my sample rock
collection and talked about how rocks are
NOT all the same! A good collection is a collection
that is full of variety! You can find great rocks right
here in Cupertino! You need 4 rocks by Monday.
Follow these guidelines:
1, Bigger than a marble but not
bigger than an egg
2. Look for VARIETY (smooth vs. rough,
shiny vs. dull, heavy vs. light, variety of colors,
solid colors vs. spots, stripes, splotches, and tiny
crystals vs large, easy to see crystals)
Have fun, Rock Hounds!
