SIMPLE LIVING

I feel lucky that I belong to a family that is classified as one of the 30%
belonging above the poverty line. However, our family have lived a simple and nonextravagant life. Our familys income is just enough for our everyday need. We are
able to partake 3 meals every day. My siblings and I were provided with proper
education too. I feel contented with what I have right now but I am open to financial
progress for the sake of my family and future children.
I realize that some people are more privileged than the others. Some may say
that it is unfair, but it is the hurtful truth. It is easy for some people to feed their
mouths anytime they wanted to while some people almost risk their lives just for
them to fill their stomach once a day. Lavish living has been a standard most
especially in the first-class cities of this country. And in some other places, Filipinos
are persisting hunger. I also realized that poverty is what pushes the poor to commit
crimes and felonies.
I will live a simple and humble life for my country, my family and the public
that I serve. Public servants should vow into the life of humility and modesty. Not
only to avoid issues as a public servant but it is a value that one should adapt
because it is the best way of living. I will never ever follow the crooked path that
some government officials took. I will never prioritize my personal interest and will
give my best to serve the public up until my retirement.
