Dear Parents,
This is the first of our weekly Nursery newsletter, which will be sent out to all TISA
Nursery parents every Friday. Please take the time to read the newsletter as it
contains important information, reminders and updates.
Our First Week. Im very pleased to let you know that weve all had a good start of
the school year, with most of our new children joining us this week. They are all
beginning to settle in well, and our returning children are happy to be back in the
Nursery.
This past week, weve talked about our daily routine how our day starts (we arrive at
school) and how it ends (pick up time). The children have also had a chance to play at
the different corners we have in the Nursery (dolly, gym, puzzle, crafts and library).
We also did some action/movement songs and nursery rhymes. Our story for the
week is My Preschool by Anne Rockwell.
Our topic next week will be about behaviour in the Nursery and good manners, and
its great to see that many of our children are already demonstrating good behaviour
towards each other.
As the warm weather is still upon us, we head out to play right after our first circle
time. Its just perfect and theres plenty of shaded area up on the hill and around the
jungle gym.
The children have discovered our pomegranate tree, gathered
pinecones, rode their favourite cars and bikes, played on the sandpit and went on the
slides and seesaws again and again. Next week we will have some water play outside
so please remember to bring in a set of spare clothes for your child.
Nursery PTA Representative. Mrs. Jane Fidler is our PTA Representative. She is the
mother of Benjamin who will be joining the Nursery in October. A big THANK YOU to
Jane for taking on this important role. Ms Farida, Jane and I met yesterday to have an
overview of the events we will have in the Nursery throughout the school year. First off
will be the Open House/Back to School Evening in September (date to be confirmed
early next week), followed by our International Day celebration on September 30. If
you wish to be involved in the planning and preparation of our Nursery events, I know
Jane would love to hear from you! (Jfidler1402@gmail.com; tel: 055.206.8781).
On behalf of the Nursery Team, I would like to take this chance to thank you, our
Nursery parents, for your support and cooperation this past week. Its been a
pleasure meeting some of you during drop off and pick up times, and we look forward
to getting to know your children in the days ahead.
Enjoy your weekend!
Kind regards,
Racquel Haverkamp
