The waste management usually relates to all kinds of waste, whether generated during the extraction
of raw materials, the processing of raw materials into intermediate and final products, the consumption
of final products, or other human activities, [1] including municipal (residential, institutional,
commercial), agricultural, and social (health care, household hazardous wastes, sewage sludge).[2]
Waste management practices are not uniform among countries, regions and sectors irrespective of it
being developing or developed country.
India which produces 62 million tons of solid waste every year is an untapped waste management
industry which has the potential to be worth $13 billion by 2025, according to business organizations
dealing in waste management research. Official figures say around 62 million tons of solid waste is
produced in the country every year -- of which only 43 million tons is collected, only 12 million tons
treated and the rest dumped. The E-waste management which is regularized when compared to the
solid waste is expected to grow at 10.3 % and Bio -medical waste management at 8.41% (3)
The company chosen is Waste Management Houston, world largest waste management

Houston-based Waste Management, in a press release (4) Top Companies into waste management
believe that if recent trends on waste management holds on, the cash flows wont be an issue.
The customers of Indian waste management will be Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate
Change in association with state pollution control boards, state governments, municipalities along with
industries like Manufacturing, Agriculture, Healthcare and Retail.
