who are committed to advancing

develop ideas and practices
through sharing and exploring

similarities
and
differences.

AIE aims to bring together people, organisations and institutions in order to exchange knowledge and experience
in the practice of promoting international education and intercultural understanding through sharing and exploring
their similarities and differences.

Mission: ECIS is the leading


collaborative global network
promoting and supporting the
ideals and best practices of
international education.

ECIS is a non-profit global membership organisation that provides professional learning, research, advocacy, and
funding for the benefit of its members, comprising early stage through mature international and internationallyminded schools, higher education institutions, organisations that support education through their products and
services, and individuals who are internationally-minded in their outlook and practice.

Aims for their students include promoting academic excellence, enhancing analytical and study skills, building
leadership skills, fostering an ethical outlook and sense of civic responsibility, developing an understanding of
global issues and encouraging creativity.

Goals include furthering global peace, freedom, mutual understanding, international cooperation, economic
prosperity, and the growth of human knowledge.

Global
Campaign for
Education
(GCE)

Mission: Our mission is to make


sure that States act now to
deliver the right of everyone to a
free, quality public education.

GCE is a civil society movement working to end the global education crisis. Its goals include expanding and
improving comprehensive early childhood care and education, especially for the most disadvantaged and
vulnerable children; access to free, quality and compulsory primary education for all children; ensuring that the
learning needs of all young people and adults are met through equitable access to appropriate learning and life
skills programmes, adult literacy and equitable access to basic and continuing education for all adults, achieving
gender equality in education, improving quality of education, especially in literacy, numeracy and essential life
skills.

GEMS schools

Mission Statement: We commit


to providing outstanding learning
opportunities,

environment of mutual respect,
transparency and engagement.

GEMS schools aim to instill students with universal values, and are geared to form graduates who are global
citizens with leadership qualities. It aims to equip children to live in a multicultural environment, and stresses the
importance of giving back to others both locally and globally.

The IB programmes consist of the Primary School Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and DP
(Diploma Programme); all are underpinned by its philosophy and aim to develop internationally minded people
who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more
peaceful world.

Baccalaureate
Organization
(IBO)

GEMS is underpinned by four values - leading through innovation; pursuing excellence, growing by learning,
global citizenship.

The beliefs and values of the IB are defined by its learner profile which encompasses the aims of the curriculum.
The IBs curriculum model is based on a constructivist approach within a structured inquiry and transdisciplinary
framework.

understand that other people,
with their differences, can also
be right.

International
Primary
Curriculum
(IPC)

The IPCs priority is clarity about childrens learning goals, or standards, for all of the subjects of the primary
curriculum, high levels of engagement, international-mindedness and personal development. The principle of the
IPC is to focus on personal, academic and international learning.

The IPC approach to learning is a clear progression in skill development and to the personal learning goals which
emphasise adaptability, resilience, cooperation and respect and which help children to become able and inspired
learners. International-mindedness is embedded into all IPC learning to ensure that children grow up with a very
clear global understanding.

(ISS)

Mission: The mission of


International Schools Services is
to advance the quality of
education for children in
international
schools
by
providing innovative services and
solutions
for
learning
communities and corporations
throughout the world. This is
accomplished by working with all
groups that are involved in the
education process.

The ISS is a non-profit agency, which continues to facilitate educational opportunities for children across the
globe.

The Journal

Transforming
Education
through Technology.

THE Journal is dedicated to informing and educating K-12 senior-level district and school administrators,
technologists, and tech-savvy educators within districts, schools, and classrooms to improve and advance the
learning process through the use of technology.

Organisation
for Economic
Co-operation
and
Development
(OECD)

Our mission: The mission of the


OECD is to promote policies that
will improve the economic and
social well-being of people
around the world.

The OECD philosophy and aims are underpinned by their core values, stated as : Objective (Our analyses and
recommendations are independent and evidence-based); Open: We encourage debate and a shared understanding
of critical global issues; Bold: We dare to challenge conventional wisdom starting with our own; Pioneering: We
identify and address emerging and long term challenges; Ethical: Our credibility is built on trust, integrity and

The ISS philosophy is: people are their greatest strength and asset; mutual respect fosters individual and
organizational growth; collaboration promotes educational excellence; service to others is essential to successful
relationships; our word is our commitment.

Other goals of the OECD are concerned with early childhood and schools, skills beyond school, innovation in
education , research and knowledge management.

Oxfam is an international confederation of charitable organizations focused on the alleviation of global poverty. It
has adopted these overarching aims to express these rights in practical terms: the right to a sustainable livelihood;
the right to basic social services; the right to life and security; the right to be heard; the right to an identity.

Mission: UNESCO's mission is


to contribute to peace and
security

promoting
collaboration among the nations

Its stated purpose is to contribute to peace and security by promoting international collaboration through
education, science, and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and the human
rights and fundamental freedoms proclaimed in the UN Charter. UNESCO pursues its objectives through five
major programs: education, natural sciences, social/human sciences, culture and communication/information.

Oxfam believes that poverty and powerlessness are avoidable and can be eliminated by human action and political
will. The right to a sustainable livelihood, and the right and capacity to participate in societies and make positive
changes to people's lives are basic human needs and rights which can be met.

UWC is a mission-driven organisation with a strong commitment to the educational principles of Kurt Hahnand
and his passionate belief in the importance of education as a force for good in the world. UWC believes that to
achieve peace and a sustainable future, the values it promotes are crucial- international and intercultural
understanding; celebration of difference; personal responsibility and integrity; mutual responsibility and respect;
compassion and service; respect for the environment; a sense of idealism; personal challenge; action and personal
example.
UWC aims to be a leader in international education with a worldwide reputation for providing a challenging,
holistic, values-based education with an emphasis upon academic achievement, service to others, environmental
stewardship, teamwork and leadership.
YCIS educational philosophy is focused on the internal transformation of the child whereby they are both Eastern
and Western, which is affected by the international schools culture, created by the teaching and learning
environment, the administration, the overall content and process which links to the character formation of the
child.
YCIS aims to offer a global education characterized by: a fully rounded and balanced education which nurtures
the whole child: academically, socially and spiritually; an emphasis on academic excellence, the tools for success
in a globalised world; a bilingual and multicultural learning environment which fosters respect for diversity.
Their developmentally appropriate, holistic approach to education involves cooperation with parents, family,
community and world around us. Another aim of YCIS is to uphold moral and spiritual values based on Christian
faith.
