funding for NVIT
MacDonald, will perform this Friday at

NVIT will be able to offer a variety of

holistic, experiential and cultural learning
activities at both of its campuses and in
First Nations communities across BC,
thanks to $250,000 Aboriginal Service
Plans funding it has received for 2016-17
from the Ministry of Advanced Education.
Aboriginal Service Plans are part of
ongoing activities to support the Aboriginal Post-Secondary Education Training
Policy and Framework and Action Plan
(Aboriginal Framework). The provincial
government launched this plan in 2012 to
help Aboriginal learners succeed in an integrated, relevant and effective BC postsecondary education system.
NVIT applies the ASP funding to
various programs and services that directly benefit our learners. These services
include supporting prospective and current learners as they transition to and
from post-secondary and the work place.
Overall, the ASP funds assist NVIT in delivering the relevant and unique learning
experiences one would anticipate at BCs
Aboriginal Public Post-Secondary Institute. said NVIT president Ken Tourand.

yet 10am the place was completely shuttered and not at all identifiable. They had
walked right past it, but once they found
it, they happily set down their backpacks

Honeyed plums
with cheese

1 cup fresh goat cheese

1 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup honey
12 Italian prune plums, pitted and
quartered
1 cup walnut pieces
Mix cheese and yogurt well, adding 2
tablespoons honey. Refrigerate until
ready to serve.
Mix plums and walnuts in a bowl.
Heat remaining honey in a saucepan
until it becomes thin, and pour over fruit.
To serve, spoon cheese onto each of 6
plates and top with honeyed fruit.
Makes 6 servings
