Fabric Requirements 10. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing and quilt as
1 Panel BK–C5701 Blue desired.
1/3 yard KH–C3270 Sky 11. Piece the 21⁄2" x WOF Petal-C2071 Pastel strips together
3/8 yard BK–C5702 Yellow end to end with 45º seams. Fold this long strip in half
7/8 yard BK–C4369 Blue lengthwise with wrong sides together. Pin the binding to
1/2 yard Petal–C2071 Pastel the front of the quilt lining up raw edges. Stitch. Fold the
2 yards BK–C5702 Sage (Backing) binding over the raw edge to the back of the quilt and
Cutting Directions stitch in place.
From BK–C5701 Blue:
Fussy-cut thirteen 7" squares, centering each on one panel
square.
From KH–C3270 Sky (sashing), cut:
Five 11⁄2" x width of fabric (WOF) strips.
• From one WOF strip, subcut four 11⁄2" x 7" pieces.
• From each of the remaining four WOF strips, cut one 11⁄2"
x 24" piece and two 11⁄2" x 7" pieces.
From BK–C5702 Yellow (inner border), cut:
Four 21⁄2" x WOF strips.
• Subcut one 21⁄2" x 24" piece and two 21⁄2" x 7" pieces BK–C4369 BLUE BK–C5702 SAGE
from each of two WOF strips.
• Trim the remaining two WOF strips to 41".
From BK–C4369 Blue (outer border), cut:
Four 7" x 24" strips.
From Petal-C2071 Pastel (binding), cut:
Five 21⁄2" x width of fabric strips
From Backing (BK–C5702 Sage):
Cut and piece the fabric to make one 48" square.
Assembly Instructions:
Refer to the quilt photo as you follow the instructions.
1. Select nine of the 7" panel squares and lay them out

four squares are for the outer border corners.
2. Starting and ending with a 11⁄2" x 7" sashing strip
(KH–C3270 Blue), sew together four 11⁄2" x 7" strips and
the top three 7" panel squares, alternating squares and
sashing strips, to make the top row. Repeat to make the
middle and bottom rows.
3. Starting and ending with a 11⁄2" x 24" sashing strip, sew
together the four 11⁄2" x 24" sashing strips and three
pieced rows, alternating them to make the quilt top.
4. Sew one 21⁄2" x 24" inner border strip to each side of
the quilt top. PETAL–C2071 PASTEL
5. Sew one 7" x 24" outer border to each side of the quilt
top.
