The
exhibi&on,
In
Con&nuum,
showcases
four
dierent
series
of
works,
executed
since
2011,
up
&ll
2015.
Some
of
these
works
have
graphic,
linear
quality
of
drawing,
and
a
few
others,
voluminous
three-
dimensionality.
The
works
are
executed
and
installed,
occupying
three-dimensional
space,
oor,
walls,
ceiling,
and
are
accompanied
with
soundscapes.
These
works
evolved
from
an
ongoing
interest
in
the
rela&onship
between
the
human
body,
its
capacity
to
sustain
repe&&ve
techniques
and
its
ability
to
acquire
skills
and
language.
As
a
series
with
no
rst
or
last
elements,
these
works
contemplate
crag
from
an
ac&on
to
a
state
within
con&nuity,
an
expansive
and
evolving
language,
grounded
in
an
ever-changing
site,
the
human
body.
Endurance
and
cul&va&on
of
this
language
is
through
discipline,
rigor,
repe&&on
and
care
of
the
self.
Just
as
the
values
of
the
cragsman
have
diminished
from
the
world
around
us,
the
deni&ons
of
cragsmanship
have
slowly
shiged.
The
root
words
-
crg,
(Old
English),
chrag
(Old
High
German),
referred
to
power,
physical
strength,
might,
virtue
of
the
body.
In
its
modern
and
contemporary
usage,
the
word
is
bereg
of
this
early
connota&on,
integral
to
the
human
body.
The
works
shown
here
are
reminders
of
this
early
implica&on
of
crag
with
the
body.
The
show
amalgamates
three
tenta&ve
zones;
Crag
as
a
meaningless,
provoca&ve
ac&vity
in
todays
world,
as
an
in&mate
condi&on,
and
as
a
necessary
and
unavoidable
body
process.
From
an
exercise
in
foolery
and
subversion,
to
a
composi&on
in
our
nerves,
the
works
explore
the
body
as
an
ac&ve
site
for
the
play
of
Crag.
