Dear Parents and Guardians,
Active Schools Week
Next week we will be partaking in the European Week of sport as part of our Active School
programme. We feel this is a great way to kick start the school year and promote physical
activity. Children are to wear their tracksuits for the week and be extra active at home too!
Over the week the school timetable is as follows:
Move It Monday:
Drop Everything and Move (12.00 12.10pm)
Try it Tuesday:
Yoga session for each class
Walk it Wednesday:
Walk a Mile with a Smile
Team Work Thursday:
Climb the heights skipping challenge. Skip over way up some
of Europes
highest peaks.
National Fitness Day Friday:
Take on the Teachers, event to be confirmed!
School Promotion Policy
From time to time we take photographs of the pupils for school promotion purposes. We are
in the process of updating this policy and we need to get your permission to use photographs,
where your child may appear, for the school website, school Facebook page, Twitter page or
similar. As per best practice we do not name children and generally children appear in group
photos. Please fill out the attached slip to indicating your agreement or otherwise with regard
to this policy.
Fs Film Project
3rd & 4th class made their very own film entitled Ticket Trouble and entered it into the Fs
Film Competition for Primary Schools. This fantastic film can be viewed on our school website.
Sciath na Scol
We are back in training for this years Football Sciath na Scol. Our matches begin next week
and we look forward to playing Aghabullogue next Thursday at home at 1pm. We will play
Whitegate and Ringaskiddy over the coming weeks.

Library
We would like to sincerely thank all of the pupils and parents in the school who donated books
to add to our new centralised school library. We are looking forward to setting up a
professional lending system, using Aladdin. This new system will encourage our children to
become lifelong readers and make it easier for us to keep track of our childrens reading
progress over their school lifetime.
Kind regards,

Peter Mulcahy
Principal
