HOW TO CAPTURE IMAGE

1. Open Webcam Publisher

2. Set image in the screen then click the diskette icon to save the image.

3. Save the image in your personal folder.

HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS

1. Open ImageJ Program.
2. Set scale first by opening the image of the micrometer (Choose between the micrometer
captured at 4X, 10X, and 40X)

3. Once the micrometer image is open, make a straight line traversing one 5 micrometer
divisions by choosing the line tool bar (encircled in red)

4. After making the line on the image of micrometer, follow the procedure below:
Click Analyze
of length to um

Set Scale
Change the value of known distance to 50
Click Global
OK

Change unit

The pop-up window after clicking set scale is shown below:

5. After setting scale, open the image you want to measure using the procedure in #2.
6. On the image, make a straight line traversing the area of the image you want to measure.
Then, click Analyze
Measure

To make another measurement:

- Make another staright line traversing the area of the image to be
measured then press M on the keyboard. Your next measurement should
appear in the results window. Do this as many times as required.

To copy results, in the results window, Click Edit

and paste results

Copy

Open Word/Excel

HOW TO MAKE A SCALE BAR IN AN IMAGE

1. Follow procedures #1-4 on HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS
2.

Click Analyze
Tools
Scale Bar
The pop-up window after clicking scale bar is shown below:

You can adjust the width, font size, color of the scale bar
Save the new image.
