TWO HITS A NIGHT IS THE NEW NORMAL

Nationals INF/OF Trea Turner posted his 25th multi-hit game of the season on Wednesday,
giving him at least two hits in nearly half of the Major League games hes played in this season
(50)...Among players whove appeared in 50 games or fewer, Turner has almost double the
amount of multi-hit games than CIN 2B Jose Peraza (14) in second place...Now batting .344
this season, Turners average, per the Elias Sports Bureau, is the highest at any point by a
Major-League rookie at least 200 at-bats into a season in nearly three years -- since LAD OF
Yasiel Puig was hitting .344 through Sept. 8, 2013.
Turner was named the NL Rookie of the Month for August, the first monthly award of any
kind for him, and the fourth Rookie of the Month award bestowed upon a WSH player in
club history (2005-present): Harper (May & Sept./Oct. 2012) & Ryan Church (May, 2005).
DIVISIONAL DOMINANCE
The Nationals intra-divisional record, 42-19, is the best of any team in the Major Leagues
within a teams own division...Additionally, the Nationals 42 victories are 12 more than any
other NL East team has against a fellow divisional opponent (NYM, 2nd: 30).
The 2014 Nationals posted 45 wins against NL East clubs, the most of any team in club
history (2005-pres.), but the 2016 Nationals are currently well outpacing the 2014 teams
winning percentage (.592 in 2014, .689 in 2016)...The Chicago Cubs are second in intradivisional victories this season with 38 (38-18) against NL Central clubs.
