Introduction
Distance learning

Distance learning is the education of students who are not


physically present at an institute/college.

Courses that are conducted partly through distance learning


and partly on-site are referred to as Hybrid or Blended learning.

Massive open online courses(MOOCs), offering large-scale


interactive participation and open access through the World
Wide Web or other network technologies, are recent
developments in distance learning.

Full Time Learning


Students who attend institute/college lectures regularly comes
under full time learning.
Universities and college set up certain rules which a full time
learner has to follow.

There are tests and exams conducted in full time learning which
are compulsory for a full time learner.

Literature Review
The two ways of learning are as follows:
1. Distance learning
2. Full time learning
These terms indicate itself that in full time learning you have to
attend all regular lectures and you have to register a set mark of
attendance at your college or university.
While there is no necessity of attending regular lectures in
distance learning.

In distance learning some institutes keep lectures on weekends it
may be Saturday and Sunday.

In regular learning, internal exams are compulsory while it isnt


compulsory in distance learning.

Distance Learning offers enormous potential for students who
want to take a class but are physically unable to attend a
traditional classroom.
It affords a flexibility that many students find appealing, however
other find this flexibility challenging, intimidating or frustrating.
Distance Learning classes can present problems for student in
the areas of support, interactivity, commitment and technology.

The two research design that we have used is exploratory and
descriptive.
Exploratory research is undertaken to explore an area where little
is known or to investigate the possibilities of undertaking a
particular research study.
Descriptive research attempts to describe systematically a
situation, problem, phenomena, service or programme or
provide information.

Our population for research are all the students.

Findings & Limitation


Findings
Students prefer Full Time Learning as compared to Distance
Learning as companies give preference to full time learners.
Distance Learning students face problem of communication i.e
they cannot contact teachers immediately.
Limitation
Some did not fill the questionnaire properly.
It was difficult to collect data from Distance Learning Students.

Availability of data

Recommendations
In Distance Learning, better arrangements should be made for
communication.

Distance Learning should include more of practical knowledge


by giving them assignments and providing a guide who will help
them.
Full Time Learning and Distance Learning should be treated
equally.

Conclusion
Distance Learning is an education delivery system that has come
of age. The technology now exists to provide an effective and
efficient distance education delivery system that overcomes the
barriers that prevent individuals from achieving all they can
through education: The barriers of distance, time, educational
resources, and cost are being overcome with the continued
refinement of distance learning programs.
