Hello Every one.....

This year Jidnyasa reopened on 9th June for Core Knowledge Expression 2016 17. We are happy to
share the updates of happenings at Jidnyasa for the month of June-July.

Jidnyasa foundation day

17th June is Jidnyasa Foundation Day. This year for celebrating the day, we all children had planned to
perform whatever we had learnt during last year. Stage arrangement, welcome and anchoring were also
our responsibilities. We practiced hard and performed well.

Cleaning the road near Jidnyasa

For first two days i.e. on Thursday and Friday, 9th and 10th June, we had planned 'Jidnyasa Swachhata
Abhiyan.' We cleaned all the rooms and campus of Jidnyasa.
As a part of Jidnyasa Swachhata Abhiyan, all children collected garbage on the road approaching
Jidnyasa. Children collected the garbage in plastic sacks and kept them on one side of road. By the time
they finished, they had cleared right side of the road. Corporation garbage collectors carried it away.

Changes This Year

Birth day celebrations- From this year we will celebrate our birth days by tree plantation. We
gather information about the plant we are going to grow, plant the sapling and take care of it.
Next year we will celebrate our birthdays with our plants.

in Mallakhamb. He told us to call him by his name, but we call him Pankaj dada.

Field visits
Visit to the Different areas near Jidnyasa learning centreThis was the first field visit of this year. Children were divided in four groups. The first group went to
Mhatobanagar, the second and third to Sutardara, and the fourth one to Vanaz Corner. Here we examined
the environment near Jidnyasa. It was very enlightening.
Visiting the VarkarisWhen the Palkhi came to Pune, a few children from JLC had gone to meet some of the Varkaris who had
camped in Shaniwar Peth. We had an interview with them for a few minutes. We were happy that we got
satisfactory answers from most of them though some of the answers were not satisfactory. But it was a
great experience for all.
Rice plantationOn 7th July, we went to Mulshi at Gauri's farm for rice cultivation. We worked there with the farmers. We
came to know how hard the farming is. Then we went on a round around there and enjoyed a water fall.
Then had chatani bhakari as lunch which we had taken packed from Jidnyasa. We came back at Jidnyasa
by 5 p.m.
Visit to Uttara School of EnvironmentOn 21st July, we visited Uttara School of Environment, near Lonavala. It has been established by Mr.
Neelimkumar Khaire who is the famous environmentalist. Do you know that a tyre needs 20 lakh years to
get decompose? So many things are there which cant decompose and are harmful for nature. So they
should be reused or recycled.
