I have
examined the median family income in the United States by race. The study
included three racial groups including the following: White, Black and
Hispanic. Attached below is a chart showing the trend of family income for
the years 1972-1987. As you can see in the chart, White families have
significantly higher income compared to Black and Hispanic families. This
trend has not changed for the 15 years included in the study; but rather, the
gap between the median income of White families and Black/Hispanic
families have grown bigger over the years.
